祈请开示。 赐教道：大国王，无上的菩提是深奥的，难以观看，难以证悟，不是您一次布施就能获得的，百次也不行，千次也不行，百千次也不行。然而，您若想求菩提，就应行布施，积功德，亲近并恭敬善知识，那样您何时才能成佛呢？然后国王哭泣着用衣袖擦拭眼泪，问道：世尊，您过去做了多少布施和功德呢？赐教道：我在无数劫中行布施，积功德，供养诸佛出世，更不用说其他的了。暂且听我说说这一劫中所做的布施和功德吧。如此引荐之后，宣说了许多菩萨的本生故事，国王明增信心和惊奇更加超胜，极其欢喜并随喜赞叹，然后从导师处离开了。 ༄། །第九十 救脱未生怨怖畏。 第九十 救脱未生怨怖畏：当时，国王未生怨与边地的十七个小国王统一意见后，起兵反叛。他们说：未生怨杀害了具有父法的国王，也会残害我们。应该杀死他或者将他从王位上赶走。于是，他们装备了四种军队前来，包围了王舍城的城市。龙族索嘎玛梅也因愤怒而降下冰雹，摧毁了庄稼。五百苦行之水，以及泉眼和湖泊也干涸了。其他的水源也被边地的小国王们投毒，导致王舍城的人们无法饮用。爆发了无法忍受的严重瘟疫，人们用担架抬着尸体，一个接一个地堆放。未生怨自己也染上了重病。在那里，他非常痛苦，心中懊悔。玛鲁益帕摩详细地讲述了以前的事情，说：这都是因为没有恭敬佛陀所致，现在应该向世尊忏悔。未生怨说：

Please instruct. The Blessed One said: Great King, unsurpassed Bodhi is profound, difficult to see, and difficult to realize. It cannot be attained by your single act of generosity, nor by a hundred, nor by a thousand, nor by hundreds of thousands. However, if you desire Bodhi, then give generously, accumulate merit, and attend to and honor virtuous friends. Then, when will you become a Buddha? Then the king wept and wiped away his tears with his robe, and asked: Blessed One, how much generosity and merit have you done in the past? The Blessed One said: In countless eons, I have given generously, accumulated merit, and made offerings to the Buddhas who have appeared, let alone other things. Now, listen to the generosity and merit I have done in this eon. After such an introduction, he told many Jataka tales of Bodhisattvas, and King Gsalgyal's faith and wonder became even more extraordinary. He rejoiced greatly and rejoiced in the merit, and then departed from the Teacher. ༄། །Ninetieth: Saving from the Fear of Ajatashatru. Ninetieth: Saving from the Fear of Ajatashatru: At that time, King Ajatashatru and seventeen small kings of the borderlands, having unified their opinions, rebelled. They said: Ajatashatru has killed the king who possessed the Dharma of the father, and he will also harm us. We should kill him or drive him from the throne. Then, they came with the four divisions of the army, and surrounded the city of Rajagriha. The Naga Sogma Me also, in anger, rained down hail, destroying the crops. Five hundred ascetic waters, as well as springs and lakes, also dried up. The other water sources were poisoned by the small kings of the borderlands, making them unfit for the people of Rajagriha to drink. A great and unbearable plague broke out, and people carried corpses on stretchers, piling them up one after another. Ajatashatru himself was also afflicted with serious illnesses.
