Then, by fully grasping that bliss, Being clear in one's own place, the Mahamudra of indivisible bliss and emptiness will arise. These four signs, apart from the difference of being stable or unstable, vast or small, are also similar to the following. First, the place where bliss arises should also be understood by analogy with this. When the root object of focus is stable, the bindus spread to the sense doors, and the winds that cause the sense consciousness to move become workable, causing the Samadhi of bliss and emptiness to arise due to external conditions. Relying on these, those winds will be reversed inward, therefore, it is certain that the meaning of the scripture that says the six entering consciousnesses are bound to the bindu will be determined, and also, those places are not without being covered by the words "meditating on the bindu", because when the mind is placed in the heart and dwells there, it will become the shape of a bindu. As it is said that the mind consciousness is meditated upon in the heart as the shape of a bindu, it is the final clarification. Even if the words of the scripture do not directly cover it, there are very many that conform to its inner meaning, therefore, merely analyzing whether the meaning of the words of the scripture conforms or not does not seem meaningful. Also, the scripture says: One should constantly and continuously speak of the meaning related to the heart and so on, the mind of the nature of the Alaya-consciousness of the consciousnesses residing in the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, skin, etc., placing those five consciousnesses correctly and without moving, placing the mind in the heart and dwelling there, it will become the shape of a bindu. As it is said. Some say that this should be explained as the consciousnesses etc. are held by the mind of the nature of the Alaya-consciousness, because the Alaya-consciousness is also the sixth mind consciousness. The "འགོས་འགྱུར" translation here is earlier, and later, after examining all the previous and subsequent translations by the Natang translator etc., the words of the Rngog translator were corrected and finalized, therefore, because they do not recognize the Alaya-consciousness of the eight consciousness aggregates as their own tenet, they had to choose an incorrect translation, which seems to be the reason. Even according to the "འགོས་འགྱུར" translation, the Alaya-consciousness of the eight consciousness aggregates is very clear, for what reason does the sixth mind consciousness hold the five sense consciousnesses?

It is also not reasonable in terms of logic. According to the school that asserts the ālaya-vijñāna, all of those are included in the ālaya-vijñāna. As it says in the Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra: 'Likewise, the river of the ālaya-vijñāna, constantly arises due to the conditions of external objects. The various waves of consciousness, dance with great agitation.' This is shown by the example of water and waves, just as waves are included in water. Furthermore, if one considers the six consciousnesses to be the immediately preceding sense faculty of mind, then it becomes contemplating past phenomena as bindus. This not only contradicts the general characteristics, but one also proves with many scriptural and logical reasons that past phenomena cannot be the basis for practice, etc. This is also contradictory. Moreover, for the school that does not accept anything other than the six aggregates of consciousness, there are many instances where emptiness is said to be the ālaya-vijñāna. However, those who consider the sixth consciousness, the mind, to be the ālaya-vijñāna are very few who have valid reasons. Furthermore, if the great accomplished Vajra Ghantapāda has a reason for not accepting the ālaya-vijñāna, then it is true to say so, but otherwise, it is a consequence of being a Prāsaṅgika. Because there is no other reason to establish besides that. But that is not a pure reason. If that were the case, then the noble Asaṅga and the venerable master Dipamkaraśrījñāna, who attained nirvāṇa by seeing the Dharma, etc., would also have to be classified as belonging to the Prāsaṅgika school for the same reason, and all the treatises composed by them would have to be attributed to the Prāsaṅgika school. Furthermore, the statement that the nature of the ālaya-vijñāna is mind clearly shows that the school that establishes the mind of the three—mind, intellect, and consciousness—as the ālaya-vijñāna. There are very many instances where these three are established as distinct, and only this is the best meaning of the words. Also, in the Abhidharmasamuccaya of the Mahāyāna, it is said: 'Some think that what is called mind, intellect, and consciousness is only one meaning, and that the words are different here. But that is not reasonable, because the objects of intellect and consciousness are perceived as different. Therefore, the mind is also different.' It is said in the sutra. In the Mahāyāna Abhidharma, it is necessary to ascertain that the ālaya-vijñāna is explained as mind, the afflicted mind as intellect, and the six aggregates as consciousness. Because citta (Tibetan: སེམས,Sanskrit Devanagari: चित्त,Sanskrit Romanization: citta, literal Chinese meaning: mind) means the basis of habits, etc., manas (Tibetan: ཡིད,Sanskrit Devanagari: मनस्,Sanskrit Romanization: manas, literal Chinese meaning: intellect) means the arising of pride, and vijñāna (Tibetan: རྣམ་པར་ཤེས,Sanskrit Devanagari: विज्ञान,Sanskrit Romanization: vijñāna, literal Chinese meaning: consciousness) means the distinguishing and knowing of objects individually. Therefore, the ālaya-vijñānas are...
