It is strange to cling to profound meanings when there is no benefit. Regarding the true nature of things, there is nothing better than the state of Buddhahood. Merely explaining its form will not become the ultimate instruction. If the instruction on cultivating faith is taught, it will benefit beginners. Therefore, saying that one should diligently rely on the lama and seek instructions, but instead saying that one is looking at books, is like what is said in the Five Stages: "For those who despise the lama and have no faith, who boast with mantras and are filled with seeing books, for those who have no faith and whose empowerment is deficient, the order of teachings should not be spoken to them." Moreover, the wise say that with an arrogant attitude, relying solely on seeing books, they explain the tantras. Know that you possess these faults yourself. Needless to say, seeking instructions from the lama. Regarding the essence of the minds of the former saints—the collection of instructions in books—if it does not conform to the scriptures, they refute it by saying that the instructions have the quality of being discarded, and they believe that the direct teachings of the scriptures are the instructions. In this way, the saying of scriptures and instructions becomes unreasonable, because they have already admitted that the two are one. Therefore, even if many stories of "This is the teaching of the supreme deity" are compiled, they use harsh words of hating the supreme instructions, falsely respecting the scriptures, saying that the scriptures themselves are the essence of the instructions. How can we be deceived? Here, to settle the breath, one must first create offerings and praises for the lama's instructions, and then it will arise naturally. There is also a saying that it is okay to leave it unadorned at first. Furthermore, for those of superior faculties, practicing the Vajra recitation of vital energy, the knots of the channels will be loosened in six months. These six months are divided into six parts, and different methods of recitation are adjusted according to their respective experiences. The Vajra Garland says: "The initial exhalation and inhalation have twenty thousand, one thousand, and six hundred, etc." The essence of these detailed explanations is: In the first month, one should practice the Vajra recitation twenty-one thousand six hundred times each day. In the second month, the nine hundred breaths per hour are divided into three stages: entering, abiding, and rising, totaling more than two thousand seven hundred times.

All that is subject to change will surely change, and merely knowing how they arise from each chakra, relying on these, one performs the Vajra recitation more subtly and finely than before. In the third month, the winds arise clearly from each chakra, and one directly sees how the continuous wind flows through different chakras. Relying on this, one performs the Vajra recitation. In the fourth month, having understood the way the hundred and eight winds flow, by performing the Vajra recitation, the hundred and eight coarse aspects of self-nature's conceptual thoughts begin to merge into luminosity. In the fifth month, these hundred and eight winds slightly reverse, becoming a great wind that draws in non-conceptual wisdom. Seeing it flow in the centers of the chakras, one performs the Vajra recitation, and the winds reverse from the outside, reaching the place of the indestructible bindu. In the sixth month, reaching there, it merges into the indestructible bindu, turning away from the agitation of afflictions, and the mind distracted by conceptual thoughts becomes purified. Moreover, it is said that by meditating for twenty-seven days and then another twenty-seven days, these will be accomplished. The remaining three days and three days are the transition from the accomplishment of the former to not starting the latter. These six are called the conceptual thoughts of counting, following, and place, as well as the conceptual thought of time, the reversing of the wind, and complete purification. Furthermore, there are the ways of reciting the three syllables. Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: 吽) purifies all the stable dharmas at the time of the Buddha's expansion. Oṃ (Tibetan: ༀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: 嗡) accomplishes all the moving dharmas at the time of the Buddha's contraction. Āḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: 阿) allows the wisdom of non-duality of stable and moving to enter at the time of the Buddha's holding. When the wind rises outward, it purifies all dharmas and, having become nectar, comes inward, washing away the habitual tendencies of one's own mindstream. Abiding in the nature of Ā, it also brings the purification of one's own mindstream to completion. This is the intent of Manjushri's Oral Instructions and the Essence of Liberation, etc., and it is extremely important. Practicing the life force of the mantra bindu at the tip of the heart. The third is the indestructible short A at the heart center, as stated in the Vajra Heart Ornament Tantra: In the center of the heart is the indestructible, solely Ma.
