The Groundwork Path In order to perfect the purification of the three fruits, and to show the method of arranging all the interdependent relationships of the inner and outer secrets of that very nature by relying on fierce activities, and in order to excellently show the method of accumulating the accumulations of manifestation, it is called the Tantra of Subduing the Wrathful. Generally, since it is Secret Mantra, it shows the path of desire. Specifically, since it is Inner or Highest Yoga, the path of desire in union itself is empowerment, as well as the two stages, and the conduct of vows, and in the occasions of close attainment, it is necessary to have appropriate parts as the basis. Moreover, in the occasions of focusing on the supreme accomplishment, in the stages of practice that the practitioner should practice, those such as Guhyasamaja, and these latter two, there are also differences in the extent to which great desire is used as the path, but in the occasions of offering and empowerment, and the practice of mandalas, etc., there are many subtle aspects of the ritual, and in many occasions of the common accomplishment practices such as pills, there is a great difference in whether desire as the path is actually needed, and also in the direct teachings of the tantra's words, there is a great difference in the extent to which desire as the path is elaborated or condensed. Similarly, in terms of parts, more is said about ignorance and hatred as the path than in Guhyasamaja, etc., but they are only incidental meanings and parts. In these latter ones, ignorance and hatred as the path are made the main part of the path, and in order to especially bring out their abilities, there is also a great difference in the words of the tantra, and also from the aspect of practice, there is a difference in whether it is necessary to cultivate the expansion of ignorance as the path and the expansion of hatred as the path. In the minds of most Tibetans, the understanding of hatred as the path is only the wrathful deities and the various manifestations of activities, and no other understanding has arisen. Desire as the path is also limited to the way of relying on action seals, and no other understanding has arisen. Some say that there is no ignorance as the path, and most people only regard the instructions on sleep and dreams as subtle, or only meditate on emptiness, and no other understanding of ignorance as the path appears. By these alone, it does not seem that these meanings are thoroughly understood. Generally, all the Secret Mantra tantras

There are situations where it can be considered a path. Moreover, all of these generally guide towards great desire. Although they are tantras of the category of desire, they are divided into three based on the distinctions within them, similar to the distinction between major and minor categories. Therefore, by representing the category, even if the actual practice of the path is the same as the category of desire, there are ways to distinguish the categories of deities, etc. Through other ways of distinguishing, such as transforming the five poisons into the path, there is no contradiction. In this part of Tibet, the three, Enemy, Face, and Terror, were previously called the Three Black Terrors, and often the explanations and instructions were mixed together. Bari Lotsawa added the tantra of Yamāntaka-Vijayā (Tibetan: གཤིན་རྗེ་གཤེད་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་བ,Sanskrit Devanagari: ,IAST: ,Literal meaning: ) to this, creating the term Four Black Dharmas. However, because its subsequent development was not prosperous, it seems that it was not recorded much in the literature. Later, since the translation of the Red Yamāntaka (Tibetan: གཤེད་དམར) cycle, the Enemy, Black, and Six-Faced were collectively called Black Dharma, and collectively called the Three Red-Black Terrors, and some people thought of arranging the Dharma cycles together. However, the Three Black Dharmas and the 19th chapter of Red Yamāntaka are father tantras, and the 22nd chapter of Red Yamāntaka is a mother tantra. Therefore, the father and mother tantras exist separately, 6-20 Yamāntaka-Vijayā (Tibetan: གཤིན་རྗེ་གཤེད་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་བ,Sanskrit Devanagari: ,IAST: ,Literal meaning: ) is an action tantra, and the others are Anuttarayoga tantras, so the classification of the tantras is very different. The Enemy, Black, Six-Faced, and the 19th chapter of Red Yamāntaka are tantras of the category of desire, and the tantras of Vajrabhairava are tantras of the category of hatred. Therefore, since the stages of the path for beginners are different, these Dharma cycles do not need to be arranged together, nor do they need to supplement each other, nor do they need to perfect each other. In particular, some Tibetans say that among the Three Black Dharmas, the Enemy Black is the root tantra, and the other two are its explanatory tantras, the Six-Faced is the manifestation of the illusion wheel, and Bhairava is the manifestation of the collection of activities, or the elimination of fierce activities. This is just speculation, or taking what is heard as the teachings of Bon, the books of the tantras.
