Abiding in the unchanging ground, all mundane and adventitious stains are primordially without inherent existence. Therefore, this genuine empty form is not manifested through contemplating all phenomena as illusory by the mind's intention, nor through ordinary non-conceptual emptiness, but is accomplished through the special method of binding the wind-mind in the central channel. The second point is that, from the perspective of seeing without examination, empty form and all present appearances are like illusions. The third point is that appearances are without inherent existence. As stated in the tantra: "Things and non-things also exist; there exists a state of momentary separation, without inherent existence." As it is said, although empty form appears, it is without grasping and being grasped. Similarly, all phenomena encompassed by existence, samsara, and nirvana should be recognized as being free from grasping and being grasped. Deciding through possessing the three confidences: the lama introduces all phenomena as appearance and emptiness, like illusions, through the three means of scripture, reasoning, and pith instructions. As stated in the root tantra: "They do not arise or cease; by nature, there is no birth. Things and non-things are of one nature; these various forms are devoid of characteristics." And in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "Like illusions, apparitions, cities of gandharvas, like mirages, like dreams, contemplate forms as empty in essence; know all dharmas to be like that." Even when one cultivates oneself, there is no need to seek emptiness separately. Appearances are dualistic, but there is no need to negate them. During meditative equipoise, various images appear nakedly, without any grasping. In post-meditation, although various phenomena appear, they are empty when appearing, and appear from emptiness. In any case, one does not go beyond the state of appearance and emptiness being inseparable, like a dream, there exist the object and the subject here. Therefore, through the three confidences in the lama, the tantra, and oneself, one can ascertain that all phenomena are like illusions. In this stage of post-meditation illusion, most Tibetans, in their awareness, all phenomena appear as unreal, because unreality is the dharmakaya of reality, so the world appears as the dharmakaya. The view of this lineage is that, in reciting during meditative equipoise, it may be possible to be not contradictory only from the aspect of emptiness, but this is not sufficient for meditative equipoise union.

Ultimately, it cannot be reached. When distinguishing between the two truths in the post-meditation state, it should not be recognized in that way, because the lack of inherent existence of the conventional is the same as the conventional that has never existed, it is merely the ordinary state of the conventional, but since it is not the object of cognition of the respective correct wisdoms, it is not the ultimate reality. Therefore, although it is not said that there is an ultimate truth and a Dharmakaya separate from the conventional, the conventional itself cannot be recognized as the Dharmakaya, so applying the term Dharmakaya to conceptual thought is also considered a contradictory statement. Therefore, conceptual thought, like an illusion, should be recognized as completely non-existent, because if the conventional three realms truly exist, then where is the reason for the Dharmakaya to exist? Therefore, the appearance itself has no reason to exist. The way to recognize the Dharmakaya in our own system occurs during the uncommon recognition. This is the fifth chapter on recognition. Third, recognizing the unchanging supreme union. In general, union has the nature of emptiness and compassion, emptiness has all the supreme aspects, and compassion should be recognized as unchanging bliss, but for the sake of easy understanding, common emptiness and compassion, as well as the mind free from elaboration in meditative equipoise and the illusory appearance in the post-meditation state, should be recognized as union. For this, the scripture says: In the *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra*: "The characteristic of having no essence is like a flower in the sky." It also says: "Birth having no essence should be viewed as like an illusion, and any one of them should be viewed as having no ultimate essence." It also says: "In the ultimate, there is no essence, whoever distinguishes phenomena with selflessness will universally understand." etc. The reasoning is that there are eight faults in the oneness and difference of the two truths, etc. In short, because of the reason that the nature is primordially free from elaboration, if one observes without confusing the respective causes and conditions, then any appearance can arise. Because of the reason that time and place appear in various uncertain ways, it is not inherently established from the beginning. As it is said: For whom emptiness is possible, for him everything is possible. For whom emptiness is not possible, for him everything is not possible.
