Turn to one side and slowly guide the air in, pressing it into the secret place, constricting as much as possible. If you can't, cut it off little by little, and finally release it. This is the seventeenth contemplation. Third, filling: When the air flows from the left nostril, slightly turn the gaze to the left, enter slightly faster and inhale, causing the abdomen to swell. Exhalation is the same as before. This is the eighteenth contemplation. Fourth, stiffening: The direction is the same as the previous gentle air filling and exhaling. This method also considers the vase breathing to be accomplished by this, and in reality, it is also the vase breathing of gentle air. That is, eliminate stale air, and if air flows from the left nostril, turn the gaze to the right, constrict the lower gate, inhale slowly and for a long time from the right, hold it in the secret place, and finally exhale from the right. If air flows from the right, turn the gaze to the left, inhale slowly from the left, constrict the lower gate, make the abdomen swell, and finally exhale from the left. Practice in this alternating manner. If in a state where both channels flow simultaneously, keep the gaze straight, inhale quickly, and with a strong union in the navel, slightly compress the abdomen, and exhale slowly outward. This is vase breathing, the nineteenth contemplation. This method is also one of the complete Tummo yoga instructions. It is said that this is the view of the great accomplished Manlungpa. The repeated practice of Jemo Chokyi Gyaltsen and Buton and other masters is also roughly similar to this. The instructions of the Ra Lotsawa tradition are: First, truly introduce the life force air. The body posture etc. are the same as usual, first block the right nostril with a finger or similar, blow air and inhale, slightly constrict the lower air, and hold the vase breathing. Then block the left nostril, exhale from the right and hold, etc., alternately practice left and right vase breathing. This is the twentieth contemplation. The method of truly introducing downward-clearing air is: Do as with the previous upward-moving air, and with a strong opening and closing of the lower gate, pull strongly together with Oṃ (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城體:ओम्,梵文羅馬擬音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城體:आः,梵文羅馬擬音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿), causing it to press together with the upward-moving air in the secret place. The text of this instruction says that the vase breathing of life force and downward-clearing air should also be pulled strongly in the other chakras, which is to obtain stability in the navel.

It has been done that way. Similarly, doing the vase breathing of the life force eighteen times, and doing the downward-clearing vase breathing, etc., are also done under the authority of gaining control over the breath. Therefore, those are not needed for beginners for the time being, and some will be accomplished spontaneously, and some will also be shown incidentally below. The twenty-first contemplation cycle. Here, just that much is enough to make the essential instructions of the life force exertion complete for this occasion. Continuing from the previous, the insertion of the equalizing air is: other than that, it is the same as before, except that one exhales and inhales through both nostrils. The five chakras, excluding the crown chakra, and all the branch and sub-branch airs are thought of as being gathered together. Reciting Oṃ (藏文:ༀ་,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), tighten the lower gate and draw upwards. Reciting Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:啊), open the lower gate and press downwards. The insertion of the upward-moving is the same as that, except that one tightens the throat and upper body. The insertion of the pervasive is also the same as that, except that one curls the fingers. Although it is said "four fish twist," those three are contemplations of the branches, and since nowadays the practical instructions are not cultivated, the contemplation cycles are not listed separately. The system of Manlungpa's sixfold combination of name recitation is: when inhaling slowly, mentally recite Oṃ (藏文:ༀ་,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), and when holding with a small inhalation of the combined vase breathing, mentally recite Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), and when exhaling slowly to the point of being almost invisible, it is considered that one should mentally recite Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:啊). The earlier lamas of the Dro tradition also essentially held this view. This is a system in which both vajra recitation and vase breathing are complete in one breath practice, and it appears to be very excellent. Similarly, the filling, expelling, and vase breathing, etc., of other systems such as Gyijo, Tromlo, Tsami, Galo, etc., are not necessary to explain separately because it is known that those all have complete meaning. The common instruction added to all of these is: when the breath goes out, strongly focus the mind on the indicative appearance. When it enters, mix it with the mind itself. When it stays, the experience and grasping of mixing the mind and empty form should be destroyed. This is an extremely profound practice, the essential point of the meditative mind, transmitted from ear to ear and from mouth to mouth, is the flawless view of all the authoritative tantras. The twenty-second contemplation cycle. Second is the supplementary ritual.
