Therefore, this instruction on imprinting the meditation points of the stages of absorption into the mind, if concise, can be completed in one session. If one prefers elaboration, it can be explained over many sessions, ensuring thorough understanding and unwavering conviction. Thus concludes the guidance on the stages of absorption. If one is content with just that, the subsequent guidance to be explained below can be taught at this point, temporarily treating it as a complete guidance. If one wishes to present the guidance on contemplation from this point, then immediately after imprinting the meditation points of the stages of absorption into the mind, the guidance on contemplation should be gradually added. The Guidance on Contemplation Secondly, to present the guidance on contemplation, which includes the key points of practice and imprinting the meditation points into the mind. Firstly, it is divided into two parts: actual contemplation and the addition of extracting calm and insight. Firstly, actual contemplation: Meditating during the night yoga is the most important time, but generally, one can meditate during both day and night yoga times. The physical posture and speech posture are the same as in the previous stages of absorption. The mental posture is also mostly the same, such as maintaining stillness. However, there is a slight difference: In the previous stages of absorption, let alone not seeing the empty form, even when seeing it, one should not focus the mind on the empty form, but rather focus on the sky itself. Here, instead of focusing the mind on the sky, one focuses on the empty form. At the very moment of seeing the empty form, one should direct awareness fully towards the empty form, without any analysis or conceptualization of "what is this, what is that." The awareness of the observer should only be able to perceive awareness itself. This is meditation done after gaining stability in the empty form, so the empty form does not often disappear during meditation. If it occasionally disappears, meditate as in the stages of absorption. If the empty form wavers to the left, right, up, down, etc., do not follow it with either the eyes or the mind. Instead, focus the gaze and awareness on the initial point of focus. By doing so, the empty form will gradually gather in the place where the mind is focused. If the gaze and mind follow its movement, the empty form itself will become unstable due to the bondage of action and the deviation of the target.

Mostly, even if there is no progress, since it is impossible to steadily grasp the key points of the object of focus, it is crucial to temporarily adjust the posture and settle the mind in an unwavering place. The ninth object of focus guidance. The second part includes: forceful concentration and essence extraction. The first method is, in the Kalachakra Oral Transmission, it says, "Meditate intensely on the emptiness-form meditation." Therefore, like the forceful concentration of gathering fingers, perform a strong and forceful union, and the object of focus should also be intensely focused on a tiny part of the emptiness-form, as if the mind is entering into it. This is the tenth object of focus guidance. The second part includes: connection with daytime yoga and connection with the luminosity of sleep. The first method is, in the Wisdom Eye Accomplishment, it says, "Hold luminosity on top of appearance, relying on subtle light, recognize the coarse light, from non-conceptual light, samsara and nirvana appear." The oral instruction said is: In the aspect of clear appearance, if the emptiness-form appears stable, slightly lower the previous posture and practice for three or four days. If the previous karmic appearance becomes slightly unclear, then it is not yet suitable to practice essence extraction, so keep the posture as before for a few days. Again, lower the posture as before and practice, so that the emptiness-form becomes stable. Similarly, gradually lower the posture and practice, and soon, whether looking straight or looking down, all emptiness-forms will become stable. Then, place a black stone or pebble, etc., that is not harmful to the eyes and not too large, in front of you, and through the method of posture, gradually project the emptiness-form onto that object. While seeing the object, focus the mind on the emptiness-form and practice. After practicing in this way, if both the emptiness-form and the object of karmic appearance {that} appear in equal proportions, then this is a lower way of appearing. Even if there is not much effect, it will become important if you get used to it for a long time. Some people immediately do not see the object of karmic appearance, but see the sign of luminosity, which is a better way of appearing, belonging to the middle level, so it will not produce too much effect. Or, both the sign appearance and the karmic appearance disappear at the same time.
