The conventional truth and the ultimate truth. Thus, as taught by the Vajradhara, one should abide correctly in the two stages: the stage of generation and the stage of completion. Having said that, the way most people understand it nowadays, the conventional and the ultimate, the so-called conventional being various dependent arisings, and the ultimate being the mere absence of elaboration, it is not the case that the two stages are established in this way. Both of them, both act as the object of focus, and the ultimate establishment of the two truths does not depend solely on that. The conventional is not established as the emptiness that possesses all kinds of excellence, nor is the ultimate established as unchanging bliss. Although that is the ultimate two truths of this vehicle, from the perspective of actually using them as the path, both of them must be accomplished through the completion stage, without any distinction of importance. The generation stage cannot actually accomplish both. When faith is used as the path, there is no distinction of importance, and one must practice equally. Therefore, by combining the conventional with the stage of arising of the world, and the ultimate with the stage of cessation of the world, it is called the yoga of the conventional truth of the generation stage and the yoga of the ultimate truth of the completion stage. Then, since some parts of the generation stage also involve union with death, how can it be said that the generation stage is solely for practicing the conventional of the arising stage? It is true, but arising and ceasing are merely differences in state, and there is no separate establishment of basis and entity. If that is the case, all compounded phenomena are constantly arising and constantly ceasing, so these arising and ceasing are characteristics of phenomena, and they do not become characteristics of one's own nature or of the basis of substance. Therefore, any being, from the moment of birth to the exhaustion of life, each moment in its own position is purely characterized by arising, and at the same time, it is also characterized by ceasing and decaying. Therefore, one cannot divide a person's life into different stages such as the first half and the second half, and then combine the parts of arising and ceasing separately. Therefore, death is characterized by decay and must be distinguished separately.

Although it is established by manifest appearance and universally known, 3-39 Yet, rationally speaking, it also has the nature of birth, because at the time of death, one is newly born. Therefore, death is designated as the state of something changing, but it is not attributed to the aspect of death itself being destroyed. Because death itself is placed in the aspect of being born and existing, it is not contradictory to place the conventional world as the order of birth. Therefore, the death, intermediate state, and birth of sentient beings to be purified occur in a continuous sequence. On the one hand, the action of producing things is also continuous, and on the other hand, the law of destruction in the second moment of its own time also exists continuously. Among these, the yoga of faith and cultivation that conforms to the aspect of growth and birth is the generation stage, while the order and form of these conventional things ceasing and dissolving into emptiness in each moment, cultivated in the manner of manifest reality or conformity, is the completion stage. In reality, both birth and destruction are conventional and samsaric, but new birth is the actual occurrence of samsara, and its cessation, from the aspect of cessation itself, is the dissolution of those samsaric dharmas into nirvana, and in terms of similar aspects, it is established as ultimate truth. So, in the stage of the completion stage, isn't the appearance of wisdom generated? If so, then what arises from the cause of conceptual thought is purely conventional and only generates the world. And the appearance of wisdom that arises without examination, if it must be examined, has aspects of both conventional and ultimate truth, but ultimate truth is the main one, and it is not the order of generating existence. Therefore, what is said here as conventional and ultimate truth is that birth, separated from the basis of samsaric dharma to be purified, is conventional, and destruction is ultimate truth itself, purified by the two stages of the path that purifies. Therefore, the 3-40 number of the two truths here is determined in this way, and this is also from the main aspect, it is not that neither purifies both. If it reaches the extreme, then both birth and death are purified by the completion stage, but for the time being, there is no fortune to practice it.
