Now, what appears is this: the inexhaustible display of the ground, path, and fruition arises as a manifestation of one's own mind alone. Therefore, it cannot be said to be nonexistent. From beginningless samsara until the ultimate end, the nature of mind is clear and empty. Even when born in the lower realms of hell, its essence does not become evil. And when one becomes fully enlightened, its essence does not become good. Because the clarity is continuous and unbroken, it is not nonexistent. Because it is primordially without conceptualization, it is not existent. It is neither both, nor is it not both. Because it is neither those nor anything else, this mind of ours cannot be said to be this or that. Rest in equanimity in the realm of the inexpressible and inconceivable. This is the fifth of the talks that focus on view. Sixth: Talks on the occasion of conduct. That naturally pure view should be linked with the companionship of conduct. Strive diligently in accepting and rejecting the subtle details of karmic cause and effect, both positive and negative. Guard vows and commitments as you would your life. Cherish the virtuous deeds that you have vowed and promised to do. Rely on those who increase the sacred Dharma, who connect with virtue, and who are of like mind. Be content, and whatever you do, ensure that the three doors of body, speech, and mind are in accordance with the Dharma. No matter how high or low, if you find such a good friend, rely on them. But now, due to the faults of the times, such good friends are difficult to find. Therefore, stay alone in solitude. Keep far away from bad friends who create obstacles to the Dharma and lead you to engage in sinful actions. No matter what kind of friend they are, if they increase your desire for greatness and arrogance, attachment and hatred, etc., then do not stay in the same place. It is best to go far away. Stay for a long time in places that increase your practice and experience, as they are great sacred sites. In places where attachment, hatred, and bias increase, even if it is the residence of accomplished masters, or a monastic community, or a Dharma hall, or even the seat of a lama, do not stay, but go to a solitary place. Do whatever virtuous deeds you can with your body, such as prostrations and circumambulations. There is meaning in obtaining a human body. Do whatever virtuous deeds you can with your speech, such as reciting scriptures, prayers, and mantras. There is benefit in gaining the power of speech. Strive for virtuous deeds with your mind, such as meditating on deities and rejoicing in faith.

When the mind enters Samadhi, enlightenment will naturally arise. Those who are busy with unnecessary trivialities, Those who engage in endless idle chatter, And those whose minds are swayed by circumstances, filled with countless thoughts, Even if they reside in solitude, it is of no benefit. This precious human life with leisure and opportunity, so difficult to obtain, Do not waste time; dedicate yourself to the Dharma. Be diligent in making offerings and Tormas, And to the Sangha, the supreme field of merit, Make offerings to Buddha images and stupas, And give generously to the poor. Make the all-encompassing Root Guru happy, And follow their teachings. View all sentient beings of the boundless six realms, As deities and respect them. If you can regard your parents as deities and benefit them, What need is there to mention the pure vision towards brothers and friends on the path? If there is anything that harms sentient beings and the Dharma, No matter how important your own affairs may be, You should abandon them immediately. If it becomes a cause for denigrating the Three Jewels, Or harms the Dharma hall of teaching and practice, Or leads to division within the Sangha, Even if you did not intend it, The accumulation of sins will be limitless, You will fall into hell for countless eons. What need is there to mention if it is done intentionally? Even if you kill your father but make offerings to your mother, How can it turn into virtuous deeds? If you harm the teachings of others, Yet say you want to establish your own teachings, how ridiculous! Even if your own conduct is perfect, You should not despise others, And you should not cling to your own behavior as the best. No matter how many situations of acceptance and rejection appear, All are merely illusory self-manifestations. Knowing that cause and effect are also like dreams, Therefore, hold onto what you do with the sentinel of mindfulness. Rest in the state of equality between acceptance and rejection. This is the teaching on the occasion of conduct, the sixth. Seventh, the teaching on the occasion of meditation. The view is without beginning or end, The conduct is free from acceptance and rejection. Practice meditation with unwavering attention, It will surely lead to the realization of true meaning. In the self-aware, self-luminous original nature of the mind, Do not fabricate or alter anything; rest in naturalness. In the uninterrupted appearance of the six consciousnesses, Maintain self-awareness in a relaxed state. Recognize the naked essence of whatever arises. If you do not recognize the essence of whatever arises, Even the meditation on non-conceptual emptiness, Will not transcend the Dharma fabricated by the mind, And will ultimately be unsustainable; it is merely in vain. When merged into the uncontrived expanse, No matter what kind of contrived meditation you practice, It is the self-nature.
