Alas! The partiality towards oneself and others increases, Saying "I am practicing" is just old rubbish. For the moment, Seeming to be virtuous and of good character, In the end, litigation is the root of ruin. The pure liberation of a religious person, Is when whatever they do accords with the Dharma. Turning the wheel of the eight worldly concerns, Even if they say it's for the benefit of others, it's all nonsense. Without remembering the kindness of parents, How can one attain peace and happiness? Deceiving with flattering words and crooked talk, The ignorant and mindless all run like water. The second topic is speaking about revealing inner flaws. The third topic: The difficulty of obtaining a human body and its impermanence. Even in endless eons of time, The appearance of Buddhas is only a few times. Even in hundreds of thousands of births, Obtaining a human body is only once. In other births where a human body is not obtained, It is difficult to accept or reject based on cause and effect. How can one practice the sacred Dharma? The sacred Dharma Does not even enter their ears. Those who are skilled at obtaining food, drink, and enjoyment, Are no different from animals. If one does not practice the sacred Dharma, Then one is just turning the wheel of samsara. If one strives to tame one's own mind, Then there will be no self-liberation from samsara. Now, at this time when we meet the lama, We bid farewell to samsara. Even though we have obtained a human body, we have met the Dharma, We rely on the lotus feet of a qualified lama. At this time when we obtain profound instructions, If we do not practice, we are deceiving ourselves. Some people are great misers bound by stinginess, Even though they have many storehouses of wealth and enjoyment, They are like beggars who starve to death. Without practicing even a little, They accumulate many kinds of Dharma, Like filling a room with books, Their own mind remains ordinary and they die. It is of no use when needed. Due to the impermanent nature of compounded things, There are changes in the seasons, There is the ceaseless turning of day and night, The rising and setting of the sun, moon, and stars, Are teachers showing the impermanence of time. Seeing and hearing of the death of others, Or suddenly being struck by illness and old age, Or the changes in kingdoms and people, Are all signs of death. There is no distinction between old and young, strong and weak, Whether it is a king revered by all, Or a beloved friend and child, Whether one has a good appearance and is free from illness,

With a strong army and powerful authority, Even sleeping in the midst of endless enjoyment, When the time comes to face death, No method will be of any help. The accumulated wealth and beloved friends, The food for sustenance and pleasant conversations, All are left behind involuntarily. When seized by the Lord of Death, Yama, Cunning and schemes are ineffective, What use are wealth and power? When will this aggregation of the four elements, The time of separation is uncertain. If you do not strive for the sacred Dharma immediately, You will surely regret it. Before youth fades away, Before illness strikes, While the senses are clear, Without the power to stay even for a moment, Haven't you seen people die in mid-sentence? In general, death is certain and comes quickly, Thinking there is no time to consider when death will come, Generate renunciation that is of no benefit. This is the instruction to turn the mind to Dharma. It is difficult to obtain a human body and it is impermanent, This is the third teaching. Fourth, the teaching on karma and its results. At this time when it is difficult to obtain great meaning, Regarding the infallible karma and its results, Be careful to avoid mistakes in what to accept and reject, This is an instruction for all, high and low. If you engage in actions of virtue and non-virtue, The results of happiness and suffering will greatly increase. Even giving a handful of barley as alms, If the field of mind is completely pure, Immeasurable births in the higher realms, The results of happiness are inconceivable. Even the sins accumulated in one day, Will cause suffering in hell for countless years. Furthermore, in hundreds and thousands of births as animals, And in the realm of hungry ghosts, there is no return. Even if born as a human in China, There is no end to the suffering of poverty and short life. Experiencing suffering from virtue, And experiencing happiness from sin, Such things are impossible anywhere. From the smallest to the most detailed, it is very important. Don't be too proud of emptiness. If you are not stained by sins, Even if the sentient beings of the three realms rise up as enemies, There is no opportunity to lead you to the lower realms. Other than what you have done yourself, There is no way to change the beneficial virtue and harmful sin as you wish. You will not encounter what you have not done. Even if hundreds of thousands of eons pass, If you do not meditate on the path and purify yourself, The old karma will be exhausted in vain, etc. All is meaningless.
