Having emanated so many branches of sound, praising all the Sugatas as one praises a single Victorious One, this is paying homage with the ultimate speech. Those limitless qualities, as vast as the sky, can be experienced by self-aware wisdom in a single instant, and can be distinguished in a single instant, this is paying homage with the ultimate mind. As for the conventional homage with the three doors: the extent to which the body's respectful posture can be shown is the body's homage, such as kneeling, joining palms, making a gesture of respect with one hand, etc., are the body's homage, and prostrating with five limbs touching the ground is the most respectful. Speaking of merits and proclaiming fame, etc., is the speech's homage. Thinking of merits and having faith in them, etc., is the mind's homage. The homage of Samadhi is that the body posture during meditation is the body's homage. The vow of silence during meditation, etc., is the speech's homage. Focusing on the object of meditation is the mind's homage. Having meditated on the Samadhi of the three doors in this way, in the state of meditation, joining the five fingers of the left and right hands together in the center, as if joining the palms, merging the five winds of the left and right into the central channel, this is the homage of Samadhi. Therefore, translating and explaining treatises such as this is done through paying homage to the desired deity, etc. From the 'Mirror of Poetry': 'The object of praise is definitely the object indicated and its gateway.' Explanation of Entering the Actual Subject: Requesting the Revelation of the Tantra. Secondly, the explanation of entering the actual subject has three parts: requesting the revelation of the Tantra; promising to reveal it in response; and revealing it in sequence as promised. The first part has two aspects: the manner of requesting; and the actual request for revelation. The first part has four aspects: the person making the request; the manner of the request itself; the intention of the request; and the posture of the request. First, the person making the request is: 'Thereafter, glorious Vajradhara, supreme among those who tame the difficult to tame, hero victorious over the three worlds, Vajra Lord, secret master.' This means that in this chapter of the root Tantra of the Magical Net, the previous chapter has already been explained, and thereafter, in order to speak the chapter on the Net of Samadhi—the Praise of Names—the requester is the glorious non-dual wisdom and...

Glorious Vajrapani, who subdues the difficult-to-tame outer nagas and demons, and the inner nature of birth, old age, sickness, and death, subduing the alaya consciousness and various consciousnesses, is the supreme among these subduers. He is the hero who cuts off the wind-breath, victorious over the three realms of outer desire, form, and formlessness, and the inner obscurations of body, speech, and mind. Possessing the complete qualities of the indestructible great bliss and power that is unmoved by demons and afflictions, he is the king who controls the secret of body, speech, and mind, the stainless light Vajra Moon, the whisperer to all the Tathagatas, I beseech Vajrapani. Second, the demeanor of the petitioner: 'Eyes like blooming white lotuses, possessing a face like a blooming lotus, holding the supreme vajra in his own hand, waving it again and again. Having layers of wrathful wrinkles, etc., immeasurable Vajrapani, the hero who subdues the difficult-to-tame, fearsome and heroic in appearance, the tip of the vajra radiating light, waving it with his own hand.' This means that the demeanor of the body is: possessing eyes as clear and bright as blooming white lotuses, possessing a face as radiant as a blooming lotus. Holding the supreme vajra, the weapon, in his own hand, waving it again and again. The heroic posture is: having layers of wrathful wrinkles, possessing a third eye, bared fangs, burning hair upwards, a hanging belly, etc. Vajrapani, possessing immeasurable light, is the glorious hero who cuts off life and pegs, and slays, the subduer of the difficult-to-tame nagas and demons, fearsome in appearance and heroic in demeanor. Vajrapani, whose vajra tip radiates light, waving it with his own hand. Third, the petitioner's thought: 'With great compassion and wisdom, and skillful means, the supreme one who benefits beings, possessing a mind of joy, satisfaction, and delight.' This means that the demeanor of the mind is: Vajrapani, the supreme one who benefits beings with great compassion, possessing joy and great wisdom, and the delight of satisfaction and a great mind. Fourth, the petitioner's posture: 'Having the form of a wrathful body, the lord who performs the deeds of the Buddhas, together with those who bow down, paying homage to the Tathagata Bhagavan, the perfectly enlightened Buddha.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
