English version Cutting off the three obstacles (three obstacles: greed, hatred, and ignorance), together attaining rebirth in the land of Amitabha (Amitabha). Taking refuge and repenting, sincerely repenting. Since beginningless time, receiving this body, constantly harming sentient beings with the ten evils (ten evils: killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, idle chatter, greed, hatred, and wrong views). Being unfilial to parents, slandering the Triple Gem (Triple Gem: Buddha, Dharma, Sangha), creating the five rebellious acts (five rebellious acts: killing father, killing mother, killing an Arhat, shedding the blood of a Buddha, and creating disunity in the Sangha) and other unwholesome deeds. Because of these sinful causes and conditions, delusional thoughts arise, creating entanglements, and one should receive immeasurable suffering in the cycle of birth and death. Now, with a sincere heart, I prostrate and repent, wishing that these sins may be eradicated. Having repented, I sincerely take refuge and prostrate to Amitabha (Amitabha). Sincerely exhorting. All Buddhas possess great compassion, are supreme venerables, and constantly illuminate the three realms (three realms: desire realm, form realm, formless realm) with the wisdom of emptiness. Sentient beings are blind and ignorant, unable to awaken, and forever sink in the great ocean of suffering in the cycle of birth and death. In order to deliver sentient beings from all suffering, I exhort the Buddhas to abide in the world for a long time and turn the wheel of Dharma. Having exhorted, I sincerely take refuge and prostrate to Amitabha (Amitabha). Sincerely rejoicing. Having harbored jealousy for countless eons, arrogance and recklessness arise from ignorance. Constantly using the poisonous fire of anger to burn the roots of wisdom and charity. Today, after contemplation, I begin to awaken, generating great diligence and a heart of rejoicing. Having rejoiced, I sincerely take refuge and prostrate to Amitabha (Amitabha). Sincerely dedicating. Wandering within the three realms (three realms: desire realm, form realm, formless realm), entering the womb prison because of ignorant love. After birth, ultimately returning to old age and death, sinking in the ocean of suffering. Now I cultivate these merits, dedicating them to rebirth in the Land of Bliss (Sukhavati). Having dedicated, I sincerely take refuge and prostrate to Amitabha (Amitabha). Sincerely making vows. May I abandon this womb-born body and be reborn in the Land of Bliss (Sukhavati). Quickly seeing Amitabha (Amitabha), with his body of boundless merit. Paying homage to all the Tathagatas, as well as the virtuous and holy Bodhisattvas. Obtaining the six supernatural powers, rescuing and embracing suffering sentient beings. May my vows be like the boundless Dharma realm of space, without end. Having made vows, I sincerely take refuge and prostrate to Amitabha (Amitabha). (The rest is the same as the previous method). Fourth, relying on Vasubandhu's (Vasubandhu) 'Verses of Praise for Rebirth,' perform twenty prostrations. One can see the ten directions without obstruction, various trees have strange lights and colors, precious railings surround everywhere. Nets cover the void, various bells make sounds, proclaiming and uttering the subtle Dharma sound. May I, together with all sentient beings, be reborn in the Land of Bliss. Subtle sounds spread throughout the ten directions, the perfectly enlightened Amitābha Buddha, as the Dharma King, skillfully abides.
