All are bound by Sanskrit, Wondrous and meaningful, like the ocean's deep discourse. In the language of beings, expressing its nature, Kandha Osara by name, Wondrous and of great significance, vast and boundless. Each treatise adopts this as its title. The third is the method of combination, the two aspects of the body, Charm, play, gait, and so on, Observed by the eyes, possessing meaning, Pleasing to the ears, rich in flavor. Beautiful and melodious, this is what is called, This can also be divided into two styles. Between the two, the difference in ornamentation, Common and uncommon, there is a distinction. The uncommon ornaments, Will be elaborated in subsequent chapters. Here, only the common ornaments are discussed, The skilled in poetic composition, the people of the South, Though the schools of the East differ in many ways, None are fully described in the 'Mirror of Poetry'. The differences in ornamentation are discussed here, The excellence of combination, the nature of equality, The pleasantness of sound, extreme youthfulness, The clarity of meaning, the vastness of scope, The grandeur of demeanor, the beauty of form, the state of samadhi. These ten qualities are said to be the lifeblood of the Vaidarbhi path. If these are mostly reversed, They can symbolize the Gaudi path. First, it will be explained with definition, antonym, and examples of combination. Short vowels combined with long vowels, But also not too lax, The people of the South think so. Only lax, the method of combination, The people of the East call it 'combiner'. The so-called short sound is the sound of the five sections, The first five, the third five, The last five, and the four ending sounds. Apart from that, it is a long sound, Because its pronunciation has a strong airflow. The so-called lax, is two 'la', Mixed with other short sounds. For example: Mālātī Māla, Lolā Līlā. A jasmine garland, dedicated to Mālātī, A Māla garland, given to Lola. Alika is a bee, Lila is spinning or heavy. Short vowels, combined with long vowels, An example of mixing heavy sounds, The people of the South think like this: Mālati Dāma, Lamghitam Bhramaraih. The flower of jasmine, Mālātī, A Dāma garland, Lamghitam, Spinning and hovering, Bhramaraih. The bees, so to speak. It will be explained in three ways: excellence, definition, example, and antonym. Widely known and easy to understand, This is the definition of so-called excellence. The ring of the goddess of eloquence, the bee, The strings of the tambura, buzzing. Such an example, easy to understand. Although the people of the East are not very famous, However, the sound is complete and harmonious. The dharma seat held in hand and placed, The well-spoken, the sound of cymbals, melodious. This is an example of complete sound. The nature of equality, will be explained in three ways: definition, example, and antonym. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the letters have different levels of roughness and fineness, and the combination is unbalanced, then the Southern school considers balance to be its characteristic. The Eastern school, however, believes that even if the letters are unbalanced, as long as the meaning and decoration are properly arranged and a high degree of balance is achieved, that is its characteristic. Soft letters include ཀ་ཙ་ཊ་ཏ་, etc., and rough letters include གྷ་ཛྷ་ཌྷ་དྷ་བྷ་, etc. The balanced mixture of the two is like the cuckoo making a pleasant sound, the clear pond water rippling, the water flow and droplets nourishing the earth, and the Malaya wind blowing gently. An example of how the roughness and fineness of letters can be unbalanced, but the meaning and decoration can achieve balance is: sandalwood exudes fragrance, the soft wind of Malaya, my steadfast lover, is comparable to the breath in her mouth. The petals of the white lotus are soft, the wrathful deity Vajrakrodha, some with smiling faces, radiant, emitting the strong sound of 'Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit: hūṃ, seed syllable, representing the wisdom of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas) Phat (ཕཊ, Sanskrit: phaṭ, mantra, meaning to cut off)'. This is an example of mixing roughness and fineness. The sea is turbulent, with waves upon waves, as dazzling as cut emeralds. There, the wind, as swift as a hundred horses, brings the fragrance of sandalwood. This describes an example of rough diction but soft meaning. 'Pleasantness' is explained through three points: characteristics, examples, and avoiding the use of vulgar words. A characteristic is that poetry has beauty in sound and meaning. The sound beauty pursued by the Southern school is: taking refuge in the Victorious One, the Lord of the Three Realms, then one can obtain supreme bliss and gradually obtain good results from it. And so on, guiding the previous sentences with the following sentences, this is the Vedic beauty of sound, but it does not exclude subsequent guidance. The Gaudiya school believes that subsequent guidance itself is the beauty of sound. There are two types of explanations for this: direct guidance and incidental guidance. When a single word appears repeatedly in a verse or stanza, this is the characteristic of subsequent guidance. It is divided into three types: verse repetition, stanza repetition, and long passage repetition. This is common to both the Southern and Eastern schools, and the Eastern school has a unique fourth style. If you serve the gods, Dharma, and Sangha, you will be respected by everyone like a king. The jewel on Brahma's head will also regularly receive offerings at your feet. This is an example of subsequent guidance with verse repetition. Some people's voices are pleasant to hear, some people's words are comfortable and smooth, using pleasant words to make people happy, holding on tightly and emphasizing repeatedly. This is an example of subsequent guidance with stanza repetition. If you keep this auspicious Dharma in mind. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
