The single eye of wisdom! The Victorious One prophesied, like the gait of an elephant. The root of the seven treatises, the wondrous manifestations of Kunsang (ཀུན་བཟང་,普贤,Samantabhadra). Complete and without lack, it is translated in the land of snows. When the former Tibetan commentators, Created many self-made traditions, The root of the commentary, the four rivers of reasoning, Unable to bear their flowing into crooked paths. The wondrous manifestation of Manjushri (འཇམ་དབྱངས,文殊,Mañjuśrī), the master of the five sciences, The wisdom of Panchen (པཎ་ཆེན,班禅,Paṇḍita-chenpo), bearing the burden of knowledge. Taking the essence of the seven treatises with the three paths, The treasure of reasoning, the untouched maiden, For the many intelligent beings of the land of snows, On the feet of the All-Pervading One, each of their own, Tormented by the heat of thoughts, Performing this ritual of cooling bath. Having well understood the suchness of the three abodes, The great path of properly teaching others. Direct perception, inference, and establishing and refuting, The great body of logic, it resides here. The field of knowledge and the door of the knowing mind, How the mind acts upon the field. The definite number of measurements, the meaning of valid cognition, Direct perception and inference, they reside here. The way the new sign and the to-be-proven relate, The establishment of one's own side, only self-continuum, The refutation of the other's side, only single refutation, Establishment and refutation, both complete. The excellent structure of the statement of proof, it resides here. In short, the wisdom of the former Tibetans, Whatever arose, hundreds of strings of jewels. The places of scripture and reasoning that dispel errors, Consistent with the famous treatises, it resides here. Now here, the root of the commentary, For those who claim to explain it as it is, the errors, Even if there are thousands of them, If one knows this treatise, one is liberated on one's own. Such an excellent treatise, victorious in all directions, Its wisdom is written on the golden palace. For the sake of the joy of the beings of Jambudvipa (འཛམ་གླིང་,赡洲,Jambudvīpa), Like writing on the surface of white crystal. On the pages of paper books, The clear sun of printing that transfers, Rises from within the great golden palace of Monthang. May the light of reasoning illuminate all directions! Here, the protector of the land, Tashi Nyima (བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཉིན་མོའི་,吉祥日光,Tashi Nyima), With his sons, consorts, and ministers, all, For the sake of the protectors of limitless beings, may the Victorious One, Reside in the unsurpassed state! Auspicious and perfect! May the auspicious wishes of all the Buddhas and their, sacred Dharma and all those Dharmas, the skillful protectors and those who protect them, and the guardians of the teachings descend. May auspicious wishes cause this great earth, to be according to the command of the protector and his teachings, skillfully written by this so-and-so, as it is written, skillfully carved by this so-and-so, and all those who have done so. Thus, with heart and hand, may these who are skilled in transforming actions, may they always be happy and ultimately attain the ground of benefit. This so-and-so's month, on this auspicious day of this so-and-so, it was completed in the great monastery where the Great Sage is pleased. Auspicious! Granting the catalog for the printing of the 'Treatise on the Three Vows'. ༈ [Granting the catalog for the printing of the 'Treatise on the Three Vows'.] ༄! Svasti prajñā bhya. With hands of loving-kindness, lead to the place of bliss, With the great stream of compassion, settle in the place of abundance, With the Dharma of the three vehicles, guide all beings from low to high, I prostrate to that guide, the teacher. The Great Sage Buddha in India, With countless emanations of immaculate bodies, First turned the wheel of the excellent three vehicles of Dharma, Opening a hundred doors of liberation. Thereafter, until other times, Many Arhats with Dharma eyes, In order to make the teacher's teachings last long, Commonly compiled the scriptures three times. In other places, in the form of a universal monarch, With hundreds of delightful magical games, Saved sentient beings on the profound path, Protected by the hundred flavors of maturation and liberation. The secret treasure holder, the one compiler, Once compiled and sealed with the Vajra hand seal. In the realms of Dakinis and Siddhas, Clearly abiding, without increase or decrease. Then, after a long time, By the decree of the Tibetan god-king Trisong Detsen, The undisputed three vehicles of Dharma were first translated. Padmasambhava and many other great Siddhas, The profound secret mantra words held in their hearts, Clearly recorded on the pages of scriptures, Revealing the great path of the Early Translation of Secret Mantras. Thereafter, gradually, bound by the noose of the god of desire, Most of those who claimed to be mantra holders, Mostly practiced according to the tantras, samayas, universally integrated treatises, and fierce rituals. At that time, the translator who was an emanation of the Buddhas, The precious Zangpo who knew two languages, Translated the four categories of tantras. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
