As for you, you are undoubtedly equal to the compassionate and great Victorious One (རྒྱལ་བ་, Gyalwa, 'Victorious One,' referring to the Buddha). In Kashmir (ཁ་ཆེའི་ཡུལ་, Kha che'i yul) [within the sound], you mastered the three fields of knowledge (རིག་པའི་གནས་གསུམ་, rig pa'i gnas gsum), and excellently engaged in translation and establishing traditions [extensive commentary]. In central India (འཕགས་ཡུལ་, 'Phags yul) [Go mi 'chi med and protectors of the teachings, etc.], from the great eastern Paṇḍita (ཤར་ཕྱོགས་པཎ་ཆེན་, Shar phyogs PaN chen), you acquired the Prajñāpāramitā (ཤེས་ཕྱིན་, Shes phyin) teachings and established a great tradition [extensive commentary]. At the border of India and Nepal (བལ་, Bal) [Ḍombi Heruka riding a tiger], you attained Khecarī (མཁའ་ལ་སྤྱོད་པ་, mkha' la spyod pa) and Vidyādhara (རིག་འཛིན་, rig 'dzin), and also beheld the Tibetan people with compassionate eyes. From the Pramāṇavārttika (རྣམ་འགྲེལ, Rnam 'grel) [Gzhen phan bzang po and Skal ldan rgyal po, etc.], through the great path of reasoning, you alone see the excellent system of Nāgārjuna (ཀླུ་སྒྲུབ་, Klu sgrub). Thereafter, when you were seventeen years old [Myang stod, Bo dong, Lhasa, Samye, etc.], in the four Ru regions, you poured down a great rain of Dharma. When you rained down the Dharma with reasoning, the faces of the scriptures were opened, numbering fifty thousand volumes, and those attending teachings and individual instructions numbered one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five. The clouds of saffron robes filled the world, and this wondrous sight was like the Victorious One in the noble land of India. In this land of Tibet [gold mines and many activities flourished, and the king and many great upholders of the teachings appeared simultaneously at that time], the prosperity of both secular and spiritual affairs came together in harmony. It is known to all that it is only during your time that the teachings are upheld, so I prostrate to you. Thus, from the ocean of your deeds, I admire but a drop. May the merit of this cause me and all my disciples to become like you, a glorious guide for beings. Born into the 'Bre clan, with excellent wisdom, you renounced the world and saw the ultimate limit of Abhisamaya. From your great self, you realized the nature of the Pāramitās and made the teachings blaze.
