On the road, there were many Tirthika shrines, and Virupa, fearing lice, placed a Buddhist statue on the head of each of their own shrines, adorning each with a garland of flowers. Tishṭa-vajra, a disciple of Śāntarakṣita, prayed for the Buddhist statues to remain firmly in place, offering the essence of the three white and three sweet substances to the Buddhist statues, and vowed to offer the remaining offerings to their own shrines. Tishṭa-vajra pointed at Śāntarakṣita with a Tāmrapaṭṭatīmā stick, saying, 'For my sake, stand up!' The stick immediately stood up and went to him. The Tirthikas placed Śāntarakṣita's feet on their heads, obeyed his instructions, and requested that the stick be placed there. Śāntarakṣita said, 'Do not kill living beings, offer the essence of the three white and three sweet substances to the Buddhist statue placed on the head of the stick, offer the remaining offerings to Īśvara, and then enjoy the remaining offerings yourselves.' They made a vow and placed the stick there. After that, in a place called Sāharadevī in the east, there was a temple with a naturally formed iron trishula and a stone statue of the goddess Candika. About a thousand Tirthika yoginis lived there, and they said that whenever someone came from outside, they wanted to ask the shrines for accomplishments, so they would bring them to the shrines. Those people would be secretly stabbed to death by the trishula, and they would use the flesh of those people to make a tsokhor. Śāntarakṣita came here, and the yoginis gathered in the temple. Śāntarakṣita had three attendants control the wind at the door with a wind mantra, and then visualized it as a pile of bad earth. After Śāntarakṣita entered the temple, he asked, 'Where have my three friends gone?' The attendants replied, 'They are at the door.' Śāntarakṣita said, 'Call them in.' The attendants said, 'Call them yourself.' Śāntarakṣita called them, but they did not answer. Śāntarakṣita pointed with his fingers, meaning 'Where is the stench?' The bad earth immediately dispersed, and the entire temple was filled with a foul odor. Śāntarakṣita pointed a threatening gesture at the two shrines, the trishula trembled, and the goddess Candika made crackling sounds. Śāntarakṣita clapped his hands, and the trishula turned to dust. Śāntarakṣita slapped the top of the head of Candika, and the goddess's head shrank into her body, causing all the yoginis to faint. After the yoginis woke up, they all placed Śāntarakṣita's feet on their heads, saying, 'Buddhists are very compassionate, please do not destroy the shrines.' Śāntarakṣita said, 'If you vow not to harm sentient beings, offer the essence of the three white and three sweet substances to the Buddhist statue on the head of Candika, offer the remaining offerings to Candika, and then enjoy the remaining offerings yourselves, I will not destroy the shrines.' They made a vow, and Śāntarakṣita did not destroy the shrines. At that time, the explanations and guidance of the Black Tradition were very prevalent. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He was given the prophecy of accomplishing perfection. The Vajra verses were written down. You were blessed with equal power and ability (as the guru), practicing extremely simple conduct, and traveling to great charnel grounds such as Oḍḍiyāna (Udyana). In the east, there was a heretical king named Dheharathul, who preached desire as Dharma. You brought him and his retinue into the Vajrayana, and were told to act for the benefit of sentient beings. As instructed, you practiced asceticism and went to the forest of Kandari, where you completed a three-month retreat. You gained clairvoyance and miraculous powers. The great master Kampa Nagpo entered among the queens of King Dhāhara, who possessed beautiful bodies and appearances, and were skilled in various arts, totaling seventy-two. When the patrolmen Madhara Ha and others saw this, they reported it to the king. The king said, 'Seize him!' When they went to seize him, he passed through walls and disappeared. They reported that they had not caught him. The king ordered the mobilization of troops. When the troops gathered and the king rode on horseback, with the troops lined up, the master manifested immeasurable forms, not knowing which one to strike. They realized this was a sign of accomplishment, so the king offered his precious crown, placed the master's feet on his head, and requested to follow him. The king and his retinue were all initiated into the Vajrayana. Master Kampa Nagpo diligently engaged in teaching and practice activities for twelve years, and the king and many of his retinue attained accomplishment. After that, the three, the lord of yoga and the disciples, went to the border between the northeast and southwest of India, where there was a self-arisen statue of Great Compassion. They first prostrated and made offerings, and then reported, 'We have done such things for the Buddha's teachings.' The Lord said, 'Son of noble family, your power can even turn Mount Meru into dust. However, due to the influence of karma, sentient beings have various inclinations, and even the Buddha finds it difficult to subdue all beings at the same time. Therefore, have compassion and avoid harming sentient beings.' The master requested protection for the self-arisen statue of the youth Kārtika in Sovanathana in the southwest, where thousands of birds, buffaloes, etc., were sacrificed every day, and to temporarily place them together. (The Lord) said, 'Then, without destroying the statue, use skillful means to subdue them!' At this time, Yarba completed the studies of Ḍombi Heruka. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
