Moreover, it also leads to verbal transgressions and becomes the basis for breaking the vajra fence, causing resentment among Dharma brothers and sisters due to quarrels and hoarding. Other sanghas also slander and speak ill of each other due to inconsistent behavior. Therefore, mantra practitioners naturally become stingy and divisive. Hence, the precept of not associating with sangha members who possess the four impure aspects is established. Among samaya holders, Dharma debates should not be conducted like a peacock catching a snake. For example, when a peacock catches a snake, it first presses down on the snake's tail. When the snake tries to bite, it presses the tip of its wing against the snake's mouth. Then, taking advantage of this, it gradually pecks at the snake's vital points. Similarly, some people, arrogant due to their learning and wisdom, disregard their vows and test their Dharma friends. They superficially refute their friends' words and then take the opportunity to attack what their friends do not know. The fault of doing this is as follows: The scriptures also say, "One should not debate with a Mahayana Dharma friend using the power of wisdom." As stated in the Secret Mantra Vinaya, this has the fault of contradicting the Buddha's words, as well as the fault of increasing afflictions for both oneself and others. Furthermore, people hate and disapprove of those who enjoy Dharma debates. In addition, it becomes the basis for breaking the vajra fence. If the debate results in victory or defeat, it generates malice and stinginess. Even debating together leads to bias and division. Therefore, without the intention of increasing wisdom or showing off merits to others, the precept is established that Dharma debates should not be conducted among samaya holders. However, if debates are held to compare philosophical views, that is permitted. To raise one's own conceptual flag like a dog and to lead the instructions of the lama and holy friends like a dog means that some people, when teaching the Dharma, say, "My lama so-and-so and my Dharma friend so-and-so said this, but there are these faults in doing so, so it is not right." Then, behind their backs, they lead them like dogs.

Leading them, and raising the banner saying, "This of mine is without fault." The fault in this is that the fundamental samaya will be severely violated, the fault need not be said, even if it is true, there will be no accomplishment. That Dharma will become without basis and not dignified. That person will become the object of everyone's criticism, and moreover, it is a great source of breaking the vajra fence. For those who have such behavior, there is no place to be in harmony with the vajra master and virtuous friends. Not only is this kind of thing forbidden, but such a person is also forbidden to be approached by everyone. Treating disciples and friends like training dogs is not allowed. For example, when people associate with fierce dogs, at first, when they are not familiar, they are cautious and obedient. They give food again and again, speak gentle words, and do not do contemptuous things. Once they become familiar, they become contemptuous, speak loudly, and no longer obey. They strike with stones and sticks. Similarly, some people treat disciples or friends. When they first meet and associate, at first, when they are not familiar, they are frank and speak gentle words to them, and are obedient. After becoming familiar, they become stingy and uncomfortable, disobedient, and get angry or scold even for a slight disagreement with their own minds, and make them discouraged. The fault in this is that after generating bodhicitta, under the vow to embrace all sentient beings, even deceiving and discouraging ordinary sentient beings is not allowed. How much more so to the disciples who are to be fully embraced and the friends who are connected by vows, how can they be subdued and discouraged by deception? This will become a serious downfall, and will become a source of breaking the vajra fence. Like this, for the dog trainer, those disciples and friends will turn away and distrust, will be discouraged, will like those who turn away, will speak ill behind their backs, and will not like to be together in the same place. Because of these reasons, the vajra fence will be broken. Therefore, it is forbidden to treat others like training dogs. One should not sever the relationship between teacher and disciple, and the guru
