Establishing certainty through negation is articulated through four modes. Such is the general mode of reasoning. Therefore, when assessing the tenets of the Buddhist Dharma, one should examine it in this way: Starting from the Hearer Vehicle up to the ultimate of Great Perfection, it is commonly proclaimed that whoever sees the true meaning is liberated. Those noble ones who have attained liberation, if they have attained liberation by seeing all phenomena as having the characteristic of emptiness, then emptiness is definitely the true meaning. If they have attained liberation by seeing the characteristic of entities, then entities become the true meaning. Therefore, whichever of these two, entities and non-entities, one is liberated by seeing, that is definitely the correct truth. Whichever one is bound by seeing, that is definitely a reversed error. Therefore, it follows that if there is liberation by seeing something, then it is impossible for what is seen to be untrue. Furthermore, if there is bondage by seeing something, then it is impossible for what is seen to be a reversed error. This is established by the reasoning of 'if something is absent, it is impossible for something to exist.' Also, in this way, since all sentient beings grasp phenomena as entities and signs, and since there is no liberation, seeing entities cannot be the characteristic of truth. Furthermore, if noble ones have no delusion, then it is also impossible for them to possess a dharma that is pervaded by the nature of delusion. This is also established by the reasoning of 'if something is absent, it is impossible for something to exist.' These two modes should also be understood through their own force. Therefore, it follows that if the reality of what is to be known is true as being devoid of elaboration, then those who have attained liberation are also liberated by seeing that meaning, and it is said that liberation is attained because it is true. Similarly, it is also established that it is true for the sake of liberation. Similarly, it is also established that there is no liberation because it is untrue and deluded, and that it is deluded because there is no liberation. Therefore, since those noble ones who see the truth have promised to see the truth itself, ...

Falsehood should not be seen, and if falsehood had a nature that could be seen, then it would no longer be falsehood itself. Since it is admitted that sentient beings seeing untruth as truth is deluded, there is no contradiction in things appearing as if they exist even though they lack inherent existence, like hairs in the sky. Therefore, phenomena pervaded by conventional nature cannot be proven to exist in the realm of the Buddha. This is the reasoning of meaning. It also contradicts the meaning of the usage of words, such as "Samdrita." "Sam" is a prefix of a word that means to take closely, meaning completely correct. The word "Prita" has three meanings: deception, obscuration, and bondage. For example, it refers to a mind that is actually confused and has appearances. This is not the determination of the true meaning, but is completely deceived by itself, so it is called conventional. This mind, which is inherently confused, becomes an obstacle to the arising of the non-inverted meaning in the continuum, so it is also called true obscuration. Similarly, the confused mind itself binds itself and does not attain liberation, so it is also called complete bondage or binding. Therefore, whatever meaning can be expressed by these three words cannot be proven to exist in the realm of the Buddha. The opposite of that word is "Paraandra." "Para" is supreme, and the word "Arba" actually refers to the object of the mind, and is also used to refer to things and wealth, so it is called "meaning." For example, among the objects of the mind, it is supreme, so it is called ultimate meaning, or it is the ultimate object of supreme minds, so it is called supreme meaning, or it is both meaning and supreme, so it is called ultimate meaning. Therefore, whatever meaning can be expressed by this word, how can there be any contradiction in proving that it exists in the realm of the Buddha? It is definitely certain. The meaning of the sutras is completely fulfilled by this alone. Some opponents say this: The non-conceptual wisdom of the Buddha is only the object of ultimate truth, because it sees the true meaning. Since it arises free from all conceptual thoughts, it arises in accordance with the nature of reality. Therefore, there is no contradiction in possessing this. This should be refuted as follows: Self-awareness itself is the thing of
