It is also said that "time secret" refers to the distinction made by the place and time of use in the secret mandala of the assembly, and not by proclamation. The so-called intermediate secrets, such as one's own tutelary deity, as well as the mantra and mudra of the tutelary deity, should all be kept secret. Common deities, mantras, and mudras should also be explained when explaining the scriptures. The explanation of the scriptures themselves should not be spoken to those who have no vows, who have broken their vows, or who have broken their vows. It is said in the scriptures that those who have no vows should be mixed together and then spoken. If trust is generated through history, etc., then it is meaning and symbol, and it is said that there is especially no need to mix. If it is really necessary to mix, if many are mixed together at the same place and time, then it violates the common secret vow, so it should be separated by place and time, and it is said that it should be mixed gradually and sequentially. Therefore, in the various stages of disciples entering the mandala, it is also necessary to determine the number of disciples, and this should be understood. In addition, it is said in the scriptures that profound views are secret and vast actions are secret. Profound views should be kept secret from those of low intelligence, and vast actions should be kept secret from those who are newly initiated. (What should be kept secret is what should be kept secret by measuring with one's own wisdom. What is entrusted is the teachings of the guru and Dharma friends. The obstacles in this are similar, as in the extensive explanation of the vow sutra.) Thus, these five vows are like the roots of a tree. If these are missing, the seed of enlightenment will be lost, so these are the five root vows. That's what it says. In short, not abandoning the deity and not cutting off the mantra and mudra are the vows to accomplish excellent qualities. Respecting and loving the Vajra Master and Dharma friends, guarding against violating the Guru's mind, and not revealing secrets to others are all to protect what should not be done from the three doors of body, speech, and mind as its companion, mainly to protect, so it is the vow of protection. Therefore, it is said in the scriptures: "The vows of accomplishment and protection are supreme." Some scriptures say that the five root vows

Oh, this also includes the three samayas of body, speech, and mind. Respecting and cherishing the Vajra Master and Dharma siblings, and not disparaging them, is because the body is the basis for benefiting others and also the foundation for protecting against harm. Therefore, the body is the main object, so it is summarized as the samaya of body. Meditating on the deity, and continuously reciting mantras and performing mudras, belongs to the limb of recitation, because the main thing is speech, so it is summarized as the samaya of speech. Not spreading secrets to others, although it is speech that should be restrained, the secret should be kept in the heart, because the main object is the Dharma of the mind, so it is summarized as the samaya of mind. In general, these root samayas are like the life force being the root of all senses. If these samayas are not broken, then the broken limbs will gradually be restored. Among them, there are ten branch samayas. To explain this, (the text says:) "Ignorance, attachment, anger, pride, and jealousy are not abandoned. White pills, red pills, fragrant meat, and pure vessel water are not abandoned. The ten branch samayas are supreme, practiced by realizing original purity and equality." This means that although there are many ways to not abandon afflictions, in short, it should be known that they can be summarized as: not abandoning by fully understanding their nature, not abandoning by mastering skillful means, and not abandoning great afflictions. Among them, not abandoning by fully understanding their nature is because the very nature of afflictions is liberation, and afflictions are the Tathagatagarbha, therefore they are not objects to be abandoned. In the sutras of definitive meaning, it is also said like this. In the Vimalakirti Sutra, it is also said: "Is it not through abandoning desire, hatred, and ignorance that one is liberated?" The answer is: "Whoever is liberated by abandoning desire, hatred, and ignorance." This is said to those who are arrogant; for those who have nothing, the very nature of desire, hatred, and ignorance is liberation. It is like this. Showing afflictions as the Tathagatagarbha is also said in the same sutra: "The lotus does not grow from dry land or barren ground, but from water and mud. Likewise,
