May life, merit, and fame increase! May auspiciousness that surpasses all in the world come! Recite such things. Thus, relying on the profound empowerment, one fully obtains the samaya of the vidyadhara mantra. Therefore, the general samayas of the root and branches spoken of in the Vajrayana tantras, and in particular, saving the life that is certain to die, ransoming the life that is about to die, extensively performing offerings and generosity, and greatly proclaiming the dharani and essence of Amitayus, etc., all vows and disciplines are followed and practiced, and learned without doubt. Thinking thus, repeat this. Take the vows. As a reward for completely hearing and accomplishing the four immortal life empowerments and their supports, offer a mandala. Visualizing all the good accumulations of body, enjoyment, and the three times as a great cloud of Samantabhadra offerings, and offering them, please take and enjoy from the parts, thinking thus, repeat this. Offer the body. Thus, having completely heard and accomplished the profound empowerment in the Chegi mandala,

The stages are like a bridge that shines like the sun, moon, and stars, never ceasing. The river of empowerment and the ocean of samaya substances and medicinal elixirs never dry up. The radiance of the mandala, the warmth of blessings, and the signs of accomplishment never fade. Profound instructions free from doubt and uncertainty. The intention of all Buddhas of the three times. The heart essence of all vidyadhara victors. The essence of all the teachings. The pinnacle of all treatises. The innermost core of all philosophical tenets. The ultimate refinement of all pith instructions. The outer conduct is not scattered. The inner essence is not withered. The secret is not carried away by frost. Not dependent on others. Moderate in quantity. Easy to understand. Without concealment. Clear and explicit. Swift in accomplishment. Comfortable in mind. Not biased towards any side. Not cut off from any tradition. Compatible with everything. Especially excellent. All connections are meaningful. The single, purely white instruction. Entrusted with the innermost intention of the great vidyadhara Padmasambhava. Like the wish-fulfilling jewel that fulfills all desires, the supreme instruction that fulfills whatever is needed and desired. Let alone obtaining such a vast support for maturation and liberation as this supreme Dharma of Jambudvipa (the Southern Continent). Even hearing a single instruction and practicing it properly will surely lead one to the state of Buddhahood in one lifetime, of which there is no doubt or uncertainty. The faults of not receiving empowerment and the benefits of receiving empowerment are certain, as drawn from the lineage of the Empowerment King's Tantra in the order of before and after. Therefore, it is extremely important to uphold the root of these, the collection of vows and precepts. Regarding this, extensive explanations are inconceivable and cannot be fully expressed, but here I will also explain a little in brief. In general, the four tantras of Kriya, Charya, Yoga each have their own distinct ways of guarding vows and precepts. However, in common, the vows of the five families (Buddha, Vajra, Ratna, Padma, Karma) in general and in particular, as extensively explained in the systems of the old and new teachings and terma. Those who have entered the mantra path, common to both old and new, have fourteen root downfalls, as is well known, which are the root vows. The branch, the gross downfalls, are: Panchen Pema Wangyal said: Without maturing empowerment and samaya, not relying on vidya, quarreling in body and speech during the tsokhorlo, without permission, taking nectar by one's own power, concealing from disciples who are not vessels.

Not showing secret mantras, showing other teachings to those who ask for Dharma with faith, staying in the midst of Shravakas for seven days, boasting of being a mantra practitioner without yogic wisdom, explaining to unsuitable vessels, the eight branch downfalls. These and other eight. Also, without having done the preliminary practices, rashly engaging in empowerments, showing mudras of body etc. to those who are interested in external teachings, unnecessarily transgressing the rules of the two vows. Such subtle things must also be protected. In particular, the vows of the Early Translation Vajrayana are: the root vows of the guru's body, speech, and mind are divided into nine nines, twenty-seven, the branch vows are twenty-five, namely: union, killing, taking what is not given, lying, idle talk, these are the five things to be done in particular. Desire, hatred, delusion, pride, jealousy, these are the five poisons, which should not be abandoned but should be taken as the path, hence the five vows not to be abandoned. Excrement, urine, rakta (Sanskrit: रक्त, rakta, blood), mamsa (Sanskrit: मांस, māṃsa, meat), bodhicitta, these are the five vows to be accepted and not abandoned. The five aggregates, the five elements, the five objects, the five senses, these are the five vows to be known as deities. Tathagata, Vajra, Ratna, Padma, Karma families, these are the five vows to be practiced, making a total of twenty-five vows, the abandonments and acceptances should be decided by hearing and thinking, and practiced properly. The meaning is summarized earlier: Such and other vows are spoken of in many classifications, but the root and branches are all included here. In short, if one knows one's own body as the three vajras, then millions and billions of mantra vows are gathered. As it is said, if the three doors are known as the three vajras, and mindfulness is maintained at all times and places, then one can protect the vows without damage. The ways in which these are violated are: not knowing the boundaries of downfalls due to the fault of not having heard and thought, not respecting the guru and deities, acting carelessly, and having many afflictions, these are the four doors through which downfalls occur. The antidotes to these are: cutting off superimpositions by hearing and thinking about the sutras, tantras, and instructions, learning as much as possible, generating pure perception and respect for all beings, the mindfulness of not forgetting the virtuous objects of focus, and the awareness of examining what the actions of the three doors will become, and relying on these antidotes, and one must strive with intense effort to counteract whichever affliction is strongest and grossest in one's own mindstream. On top of the four doors through which downfalls occur,
