The six types of beings appear like dreams, each different. However, from the perspective of the essence's abiding state, it does not waver or change. Therefore, strive to purify sudden defilements. Although the stages of the path to realization are inconceivable, taming the mind, planting, nurturing, and increasing the seed, removing obstacles, and similarly enhancing, one enters the correct path through five aspects. Among these, first, to tame the mind, the root of the path is the Vajra Master, whose conduct of vows and precepts is completely pure, adorned with listening and thinking, opening its meaning with contemplation, possessing signs of experience, realization, qualities, and warmth through meditation, and who guides disciples with compassionate acceptance. Rely on one who possesses all the qualities, pleasing them in three ways, and abandon even for a moment any displeasing actions. Skillfully learn the master's intentions and conduct in accordance with the teachings, and take up the task of accomplishing whatever is said. Furthermore, combine faith, renunciation, compassion, sharp faculties, great intelligence, and asceticism with the disciple's mindstream, and then impart instructions. Do not give instructions that are incompatible with the vessel. The method of gradually guiding those whose intelligence is compatible is as follows: First, distance yourself from places of busyness, go to a solitary place, and abandon worldly activities. Sit comfortably, straighten your body, and expel stale air. Pray to the Three Jewels, generate devotion to the Guru, and keep mindfulness present, thinking in this way: This support adorned with leisure and fortune is extremely rare, like the Udumbara flower. If one is skilled in the method of taking the essence, then obtaining this leisure is more meaningful than a wish-fulfilling jewel. Therefore, at all times and in all circumstances, rely on virtuous friends and virtuous companions. Abandon this life for the sake of future benefit, and if you do not quickly strive to take the essence, then conditioned things are impermanent, like the rising and setting of the sun and moon. There is no certainty when death will come, like lightning in the sky. At the time of death, nothing other than Dharma can benefit you. Therefore, practice the sacred Dharma properly. The root of practicing Dharma is cause and effect. By creating negative and non-virtuous actions, one goes to the three lower realms. By doing good, one obtains higher realms and liberation. Therefore, confess sins and resolve from the heart, and diligently accept the root of virtue. Purify the sins of the body through prostrations and circumambulations, purify the obscurations of speech through recitation and reading, pacify the faults of the mind through prayers to the Three Jewels, and always learn mindfulness, awareness, and vigilance properly. Especially, the liberation of

In order to accomplish the state, know and remember that all of samsara is like a pit of fire, a forest of sharp blades, a forest of swords. May the strong desire to quickly escape from the three sufferings arise, generating unfeigned strength, arising again and again. When will you realize that all worldly perfections are impermanent, unstable, and deceptive, so that even for a moment, no attachment arises for the glory of Brahma and Indra? After that, regard the Buddhas, the Three Roots, and the Dharma Protectors as the infallible and constant refuge. In order to liberate oneself and others from the fears of samsara, respectfully take refuge until enlightenment. For the sake of all beings who do not match your own experience, may they be endowed with happiness and free from suffering. Cultivate the four immeasurables of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, and generate the aspiration of bodhicitta. For the sake of others, with the sole intention of seeking perfect enlightenment, regard body and possessions as mere straw. In times of fear and danger, give the breath of protection. Practice the Dharma yourself and encourage others to do so. With a mind of great joy in renunciation, guard the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and refrain from even the smallest misdeeds. Accomplish as much as possible the accumulations of virtue, both with and without outflows, and dedicate all of it to the benefit of sentient beings. In order not to be defeated by harmful circumstances, cultivate patience by remembering the faults of anger. For the sake of the Dharma, gladly endure hardships, and do not be afraid of profound emptiness. With courage awakened in the direction of virtue, put on the armor of fearlessness in the conduct of enlightenment. Day and night, constantly exert yourself without laziness. If you can accomplish the benefit of others, then you should abandon weariness. With a peaceful mind, focus your thoughts, take worldly meditation as the basis, and diligently cultivate samadhi with insight, entering the realm of the Tathagatas. With the wisdom that skillfully distinguishes all dharmas, first, through hearing, bring the dharmas into words; in the middle, through thinking, seek understanding of the meaning; and finally, through meditation, make the meaning manifest. After maturing your own mind-stream, gather a retinue through generosity, please their minds with kind words, harmonize with them through beneficial actions, and guide them to the glory of temporary and ultimate benefit and happiness.
