Whenever topics such as disputes, lawsuits, subduing enemies, and protecting relatives are discussed, it always feels strange. Thinking, 'What is his purpose and direction in speaking like this?' I only feel amazed and seem to understand nothing. Like me, a helpless and heavily burdened person, I have heard these words spoken many times into the ear of this blessed one. If one has a little reason and thinks carefully, one can understand whether he is a king of asceticism, a yogi who renounces the world, or an illusory person. Some people see him protecting relatives and family, feeling that there is nothing more important than this, and therefore doubt how he could be an ascetic. However, he himself originally wanted to be one who has no enemies and no friends, takes the mountain as his son, wears the mist as his clothes, and like a solitary wild animal, only goes to secluded places of no fixed abode such as Pubo Gawa Lung (spu bo dga' ba lung). But because the command of Vajradhara Padma Nyinje (pad+ma nyin byed) was not granted, he stayed here. At that time, his behavior was also like a wild animal, but gradually, my retinue increased, and this was all due to the actions of past karma, so there was no way to do anything about it. Now it seems that I have no choice but to protect them. He said this. People who do not understand the biographies of great Bodhisattvas, seeing this, will indeed only have the above-mentioned doubts. But for wise people who understand the reasons, this is precisely the realm of a Bodhisattva, and those who are around him are indeed very fortunate. This is a digression. He never feels tired or懈怠 for the benefit of Buddhism and sentient beings. He also said, 'What methods are there to make others waste their lives?' His inner depths are difficult for outsiders to fathom, and the closer one gets, the more unfathomable he seems, so he fits the meaning of 'deeply profound.' And those behaviors that are only for outward display, like those of a child, are actually true biographies, but most people will not understand them. This cannot be blamed on them. In short, throughout his life, he has perfected all the common activities of those who uphold Buddhism through hearing, thinking, meditating, teaching, writing, preserving, and spreading. Moreover, he himself is learned and unbiased.

Now searching, starting from the common cultural writing and reading, up to the uncommon Vajrayana's Tripitaka and the four tantras' empowerment, transmission, oral instructions, explanations, precepts, and subtle practices, there is nothing unheard. Therefore, examining the contents of the great listening record that spans two volumes, it seems that one's entire life is spent listening. Seeing the empowerments, transmissions, and instructions of the new and old Kadam and Kagyu, it seems that one's entire life is spent teaching. Merely obtaining a rough understanding from partial study and contemplation, the thought of questioning and writing arises, and some articles are written for fame and competition, but it is not like being titled as a "Collected Works." Rather, for the non-sectarian teachings, it is like a dying yak's life support. Considering the biography, which includes the five great treasures and ninety volumes of teachings, it seems that one's entire life is spent writing. Examining the methods of recitation, practice, and realization of the new and old Sutra and Tantra oceans, it seems that one's entire life is spent in retreat in a meditation room. In short, this biography of Je Tsongkhapa is definitely the realm of the noble ones, inconceivable. This method is also not merely exaggerating or distorting facts because it is one's own guru, but it is definitely a truthful description that accords with reality, which is clear to the wise. Such inconceivable and vast activities were carried out until the age of eighty-seven. When approaching parinirvana for the benefit of other beings to be tamed, in the years before and after that, no secret instructions were given to the root heart-son disciples or the close attendants to whom the mind was entrusted. Even I, a humble one, have served at your side for a long time, constantly residing here. In your teachings, you said: Now all the important activities, mainly the great treasures, have been completed. Life has also come to an end. Even if I die tomorrow, there are no unfulfilled wishes. Because of the weakness of the body, leaking impurities to oneself and others, it is good to discard this old illusory body, but now the breath cannot stop. In general, what is there to be happy about dying? Especially we great benefactors will definitely bear a heavy burden, but in general, it is the capable one's...
