On the morning of the tenth day of the tenth month, he was welcomed to the monastery with a grand procession, offered a mandala in the assembly hall, and gave blessings. I met my old mother, who was in good health, and after resting for a while, I made a hundred offerings, etc. During the winter solstice, I performed the Vajrakilaya practice and the Vajrakilaya reversion. I performed the Tara practice as usual. At this time, Chokgyur Lingpa was invited to Derge (Dêgê, present-day Dêgê County, Sichuan), and he extracted some treasures on the way. In Chaotang, a serious illness resembling blood stains occurred, so the incarnation Rinpoche also went to perform exorcism and other rituals. After recovering, he returned to the throne. In Dokho Mar, he performed the Kagye Great Puja and the Wrathful Deities Reversion. I was strongly instructed to complete the rituals for averting misfortune, so I went. I met the two lamas, mother, and son, etc. I went to the Wrathful Deities Puja, etc. The incarnation Rinpoche gave amazing teachings. Because the loss of the Torma reversion and the wind omens were very inauspicious, the treasure discoverer's family performed the reversion again for two or three days. I performed the common Torma reversion for averting misfortune and recited the sixty deities of the Jonangpa's Vajrabhairava. I bestowed all the Nyingma Kama empowerments to the incarnation, the treasure discoverer, and the mother and son of Derge (Dêgê, present-day Dêgê County, Sichuan). During the New Year of the Earth Sheep, in the Chaotang Mandala Plain, in order to promote Dharma and politics, according to the prophecy that new monasteries needed to be established, all the officials and scholars went to inspect the terrain. At this time, there was a snowfall with three layers of white, red, and black, which was later seen as an ominous sign. A feast was held in the Mandala Plain. Jekun Zang Rinpoche explained the Guhyagarbha Tantra and performed the auspicious ceremony. The local deity was installed. After burying the vase treasure, etc., we returned. Regarding this matter, the representatives of the treasure discoveries, including the entire group, reported the situation and necessities to the mother and son and made detailed reports. Although it was planned to proceed in this way, due to the sectarian bias and strong attachment and aversion of the monks of the great monastery, the steward Tashi Gyatso, fearing that it would cause damage to the local monasteries, shelved it.
