If this is done to prevent nihilistic views, then whatever virtuous deeds are done, the initial action is very important. Guru Rinpoche said that taking refuge is the yoga of daily practice. 3. Guru Rinpoche said: To purify the obscurations of the body, prostration alone has great merit. There are three types of prostration: outer, inner, and secret. The object of outer prostration is the nature of the three kayas and five wisdoms, namely the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The object of inner prostration is the Three Roots of Guru, Yidam, and Dakini. The object of secret prostration is the nature of the Guru's five kayas and five wisdoms. Furthermore, painted images of Buddhas, statues, etc., are the supports of the body; scriptures, books, etc., are the supports of speech; monks, sangha, etc., are the supports of mind. These are the outer three supports. The inner supports are the actual Guru or a statue, or the statue or thangka of the Yidam, and the painted or clay images of Dakinis and Dharma Protectors are the supports of the body; the teachings and transmissions of these are the supports of speech; the forms of the ritual implements are the supports of mind. The secret three supports are: all appearances of form bodies encompassed by the five families are the supports of the body; all that is encompassed by Om (藏文:ཨཱོྃ་,梵文天城体:ओṃ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿), and Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ་,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) are the supports of speech; the vajra and bell are the supports of mind. So, the actual practice of prostration is: these supports are actually present, or visualize them in the space in front of you. From the aspect of the body, place the five limbs on the ground; from the aspect of speech, recite the words of prostration; from the aspect of mind, place the feet of these supports on the crown of your head, and just by touching them, visualize that your obscurations are purified by white light. Furthermore, from the outer perspective, prostrate with this ordinary body; from the inner perspective, emanate countless bodies and prostrate; from the secret perspective, prostrate in the state of mind itself. Utter these words: Protector, supreme Buddha Jewel, accomplisher, supreme Dharma Jewel, guide, supreme Sangha Jewel, I prostrate to the Three Jewels, the objects of offering. Root of the lineage, Guru Rinpoche, Yidam deity who brings about accomplishment, Dakini who bestows blessings, I respectfully prostrate to the Three Roots. I prostrate to the Dharmakaya, which is without object, I prostrate to the Sambhogakaya, I prostrate to the Nirmanakaya, which emanates in various forms, I prostrate to the unchanging Vajra Kaya.

Homage! I pay homage to the body of manifest enlightenment! Perfecting the two accumulations and reaching the ultimate in qualities, I pay homage to the assembly of body and wisdom! Thus it is said. This homage is complete with the actions of body, speech, and mind, so it is the only essential for purifying obscurations. Prostrations are said to be a practice of constant yoga. 4. From the mouth of Master Padmasambhava: The condensed seven practices are completely pure, so this is extremely important, he said. That is, first, requesting to be mindful, offering the body, confessing sins, rejoicing, urging the turning of the wheel of Dharma, requesting not to pass into nirvana, and dedicating the root of virtue to enlightenment. What are the categories of these seven? They are in the manner of samadhi. The need is that the first three are for one's own benefit, and the latter four are meditated for the benefit of others. This is the outer seven limbs, he said. The inner seven limbs are: Thinking that the assembly of deities in the mandala will take me with compassion, offering this body of mine and blessing it as a body of wisdom, confessing all sins and obscurations that I have before the eyes of the yidam deity, thinking that the yidam deity will accomplish the benefit of beings, thinking that the yidam deity will preach the Dharma for the benefit of beings, and being happy that they are doing so, this root of virtue is not for the benefit of myself alone, may all sentient beings attain unsurpassed enlightenment, this is the inner. The secret seven limbs are: Requesting to be mindful without any difference or fixation, offering without attachment to the body, confessing without the act of confession and the nature of what is confessed, rejoicing without self or other, urging the Buddha, who is like an illusion, to teach the Dharma, which is like an echo, requesting the meaning of the illusory Dharma as if manifesting in samsara, and dedicating all the immeasurable roots of virtue of the Dharmadhatu. Therefore, the actual practice of the sevenfold purification is: The Tathagatagarbha pervades all beings, there is no non-vessel sentient being here, arise! Arise! Deity with ten powers! Do not pass the time, deity with the power of compassion! Supreme Three Jewels who care for the benefit of sentient beings! With the mind
