It is said that the way of dying without clinging to solitude and infatuation is the best. Noble Lhajig, please live! Thus, at the time of death, there are three ways to attain Buddhahood: The lowest faculty, through accumulating merit, attains Buddhahood in the next life; the middle faculty, through familiarity and habituation, attains Buddhahood in the bardo; the highest faculty, through realization, attains Buddhahood without the bardo. Now, what we have is the pith instruction for attaining Buddhahood without the bardo, which is the shortcut of secret mantra. It is said that the root of the pith instruction is summarized and shown by three words: By cutting off all the essence of external appearances as the essence of space, the birthplace of the six realms of the external six realms world is separated from its root; by cutting off the essence of inner clinging as the essence of clear light mind, the womb door of inner sentient beings is left empty, and all rebirths are separated from their root; by realizing ignorance as unborn, the root of Dharma is cut off, and the root of virtue and sin is also separated. It is said that these three words are the pith instructions. The king asked: Great teacher, how do you cut off the external appearance as the essence of space? How do you separate the birthplace of the six realms of the external container world from its root? The teacher replied: Noble Lhajig, please live! What is the external appearance? It is the current appearance, with the four continents, Mount Meru, and countless others. In our appearance, it appears as land, stones, mountains, rocks, trees, forests, etc. This is called the inverted appearance due to non-realization. In the Sutra Compendium of Intentions, it says: "The essence of one substance has six wrong views and one correct view, and there are two kinds of inversion." Therefore, our single water is seen as nectar by the gods, as weapons by the asuras, as water by humans, as drink by animals, as pus and blood by pretas, and as boiling copper water by hell beings, resulting in six wrong views. But in reality, it is none of these. To this, there are two kinds of clinging to inversion: Eternalist heretics believe that cause and effect are both permanent, so humans are reborn as humans after death, horses are reborn as horses, and so on. Annihilationist heretics believe that the body is the habit of the four elements, the mind is the habit of space, and the current causal appearance is sudden, death

It is said that one does not take a body. It is said that these two are inverted thoughts. Then, what is the correct meaning? It is to not cling to anything and to be separated from all clinging. For the current appearances, such as land, stones, mountains, rocks, plants, forests, etc., do not cling to anywhere, nor create anywhere, do not block appearances, do not create on existence or non-existence, appearances are self-appearing, emptiness is self-empty, like the nature of the sky, the nature is self-empty, and it is established that appearances have no self-nature. In this way, because clinging does not arise to such objective appearances, attachment does not arise, thus cutting off the root of the outer container world, and there is no birth in the six realms because the six causes are empty. What is that? The appearances of the six realms are delusions. Being separated from delusion, there is nothing to see in the objective appearances. The king asked: What is it that completely cuts off the nature of the inner clinging mind as clear and empty? The teacher said: O noble Lha-gcig (Divine One)! Listen carefully! The inner clinging mind is clear and empty. Having completely cut off in , placing the womb of the inner mind in emptiness, just saying that the root of birth is cut off, then what is the inner clinging mind? It is parents, siblings, friends, children, wealth, enemies, relatives, and so on. Then, what is the clinging one itself? It is the mind with afflictions. Cutting off that root, that mind is not established anywhere, but it is not that there is nothing. When not realized, the mind is the destroyer who creates everything, and it is called "the mind remembers nine things instead of one." Having realized that, and completely cut off the mind, there is something clear and unobstructed, which is called realizing the nature of mind. That which is not established anywhere is called the Dharmadhatu. That itself is clearly and unobstructed appearing, appearing but not established anywhere, it is emptiness. Thus, for anything in the objective appearances, clinging to father and mother does not arise, clinging is the cause of the father, and attachment is the condition of the mother, when these are exhausted, there will be no worry of being born in the wombs of the six realms. The king asked: What is it that cuts off the root of Dharma by realizing ignorance as unborn? It is necessary to realize ignorance as unborn. What does unborn mean? The nature of mind is not established in any nature, separated from all characteristics of elaboration, this is called awareness appearing as awareness, called knowing oneself, called realizing the unborn Dharma, in reality, it means completely cutting off the nature of Dharma, virtuous!
