Oṃ Svasti! The key to the blessings of Guru Padmasambhava together with the retinue of the four classes of ḍākinīs is a three-fold instruction. Herein, pacify the outer male and female yakṣa demons; in between, pacify the four humors of disease; internally, pacify the five poisons of conceptual thought. The key to pacifying the outer male and female yakṣa demons is: To pacify outwardly is to pacify with compassion. For those obstructing forces that harm oneself or others, due to the power of negative karma, they engage in negative thoughts and actions. One should feel compassion for them, thinking, "How wonderful it would be if these beings were free from harmful thoughts and actions!" Then, visualize Guru Rinpoche together with the retinue of the four classes of ḍākinīs on the crown of one's head, and pray: Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ Vajra Guru Padma Siddhi Hūṃ. By making this supplication, the three lights radiating from the body, speech, and mind of the guru strike the demons, pacifying their negative thoughts and actions, so that they do not harm but instead accomplish benefit. Also, without attachment or clinging to one's own body, one should first offer one's flesh, blood, bones, etc., to the guru, yidam, and ḍākinīs. Then, without any attachment or clinging, one should give one's flesh, blood, bones, and internal organs such as lungs and heart to the demons. If attachment arises, it will harm oneself; if there is no attachment, the negative thoughts of harming will be pacified. This is pacifying the demons with outer compassion. Internally, pacifying the demons with the blessings of the guru: Visualize Guru Padmasambhava together with the retinue of the four classes of ḍākinīs residing on the crown of one's head. Pray to them as before. From above, the guru bestows blessings; from the front, the ḍākinīs bestow blessings; from behind, the dharma protectors and guardians bestow blessings; from the right, the heroes bestow blessings; from the left, the heroines bestow blessings. Through their blessings, the body is blessed with well-being, the speech is blessed with power, and the mind is blessed with the arising of realization. By contemplating in this way, even the names of demons and obstacles will not be heard, and the eight classes of gods and demons will listen to commands like servants. Blessings and siddhis will descend like rain, warm and bustling, and awareness will be joyful and light. It is important not to lose faith, devotion, and respect, and to make supplications. By bestowing blessings on others, all demons and obstacles will be pacified. This is pacifying with inner blessings. Secret.

The method of pacifying obstacles through view: First, fervently pray to the Lama, Yidam, and Dakini. If one has superior intellect, recognize that the non-human is a mental construct, and the mind itself has no inherent nature, being rootless and empty. In this emptiness, there are neither gods nor demons, neither sickness nor even the name of something to be harmed. One should understand this. If one has average intellect, examine whether the non-human harms the mind or the body. If it harms the body, the body is a composite of the elements and cannot be carried away. If it harms the mind, there is no place to harm the emptiness of the mind. Therefore, both the harmer and the harmed are unestablished. Understanding this as the meaning of the emptiness of mind, rest in that understanding. If one has lesser intellect, pray to the Lama, Yidam, and Dakini, and relinquish attachment and clinging to the body. The demon itself has no substance, and my mind has no substance. Whether it harms me or not, abandon concern and rest in a state of letting go. This will bring peace. This pacifies one's own obstacles, and teaching others in this way also pacifies theirs. The secret method of pacifying through view is the method of pacifying external male and female spirits. To pacify the four imbalances of intermediate illnesses: The outer method of pacifying through compassion: Whether blessing oneself or another who is sick, in general, all sick beings are objects of compassion. In particular, cultivate compassion for oneself or whoever is sick. Then, visualize the Lama, Yidam, and Dakini residing on the crown of the head and pray to them. Then, in the palm of one's right hand, visualize the white syllable ཧཾ (Tibetan: ཧཾ, Devanagari: हं, Romanized Sanskrit: haṃ, Meaning: हं), the essence of the great compassion of all Buddhas. Visualize the essence of the illness as the black syllable ཀཾ (Tibetan: ཀཾ, Devanagari: कं, Romanized Sanskrit: kaṃ, Meaning: कं). Visualize the ཧཾ (Tibetan: ཧཾ, Devanagari: हं, Romanized Sanskrit: haṃ, Meaning: हं) pressing down on the ཀཾ (Tibetan: ཀཾ, Devanagari: कं, Romanized Sanskrit: kaṃ, Meaning: कं), causing the illness to dissolve instantly like dew in the sun, and rapidly disappear. Press down firmly while reciting Pray in this way. This will pacify many illnesses. Do not let the focus wander. This is the outer method of pacifying through compassion. The inner method of pacifying illness through the Lama, Yidam, and Dakini: Visualize the Lama, Yidam, and Dakini on the crown of one's head and fervently pray to them. Light emanates from the heart of the Lama and strikes the illness. Through the blessing of the Lama, the illness is instantly pacified like dew in the sun.
