Mamo! Or meditate on the Lama at the site of the illness; or at that place, meditate on the three syllables Om (藏文:ཨཱོྃ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), Ah (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:啊), and Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) alternating back and forth. With faith, devotion, and respect, supplicate the Lama, Yidam, and Dakini intensely, praying to dispel this illness of oneself and others. Also repeat the words verbally. By this, there is no possibility of not being pacified. This is the method of pacifying illness through the blessings of the inner Lama, Yidam, and Dakini. The method of pacifying illness with secret wisdom and mind: First, supplicate the Lama, Yidam, and Dakini. Then, first search for the illness, looking whether it is in the body or in the mind. If it is in the body, it may be a corpse, but a corpse has no illness. If it is in the mind, it may seem that the mind is a concrete thing, but the mind has no concrete substance; it is emptiness. Emptiness has no cause for illness. So, where is the illness? It is one's own thoughts that are ill. Determine that the illness is thought. As an antidote to thought, let it be thought; whether it is oneself or another, suppress the breath, concentrate awareness, and place it at the site of the illness. Both oneself and the illness are unestablished, and awareness is also placed without establishing any essence. Also, for feverish illnesses, exhale forcefully and for a long time, and think that the illness comes out as a black smoke. If there is a headache, open the fontanelle and exhale the vapor of the illness, visualizing it as bluish-red. If there is a stomachache, suppress the upper breath, inhale the lower breath, and churn; then belch. If there is pain in the lower part of the body, suppress the upper breath, open the lower breath, and think that the illness, like yellow filth, goes out through the lower gate or exits through the anus. If there is pain in a hollow place, meditate intensely on the place where it hurts. If the body and mind are disturbed by something like wind, place awareness firmly in its own place. In this way, if it does not work once, repeat it again and again. There is no possibility of not being pacified. The method of pacifying illness with secret wisdom and mind is the method of pacifying illnesses arising in the Bardo. The method of pacifying the inner five poisons and thoughts: The method of pacifying the outer five poisons with antidotes: The five types of poisons are: ignorance, hatred, desire, pride, and jealousy. First, where does ignorance come from? Ignorance is not knowing, not being aware; its antidote is wisdom. How does wisdom arise? It is knowing that all phenomena are without self-nature, without self. By searching for the self, it is known that neither the self nor what is clung to as self are established; in this way, ignorance is destroyed by wisdom. Hatred is being angry and hateful towards others; its antidote is loving-kindness.

How should loving-kindness be practiced? It is to constantly abide in compassion for all sentient beings. The loving-kindness that arises for those who have not realized selflessness is to pacify hatred with loving-kindness. Attachment is clinging and infatuation with any object. Its antidote is to know that all phenomena are without inherent existence. Therefore, knowing that objects are without inherent existence, one is liberated from attachment, which is to pacify attachment with non-inherent existence. Pride is holding oneself as the only great one. Its antidote is selflessness. Therefore, knowing that the self is without inherent existence, pride is pacified by selflessness. Jealousy is having wrong thoughts about others. Its antidote is to realize the meaning of the inseparability of self and others. Therefore, if the "self" is not established, then the "other" is also not established. Pacify jealousy with the non-duality of self and others. Thus, the five poisons are subdued by their antidotes. This depends on the instructions of the guru. With the guru's instructions, seek the "self" and the "object of self-grasping," but they cannot be found. Because self-grasping is not found, know that all phenomena of the self and the grasped and the grasper are without inherent existence, thereby reaching the view of the Middle Way. This is to subdue the external five poisons with their antidotes. The internal five poisons should be transformed into the five wisdoms and pacified. That is to say, when intense hatred arises externally, what is that hatred itself? Turn the mind inward and look at hatred. Hatred has neither shape nor color. Clear and unobstructed, hatred is like mirror-like wisdom. When intense pride arises externally, what is that pride itself? Turn the mind inward and look at pride, pride cannot be found. Self and other are equal and unmixed, pride is the wisdom of equality. When intense attachment arises externally, what is that attachment itself? Turn the mind inward and look, the root of attachment cannot be found. Clearly distinct and unmixed, experiencing bliss, attachment is discriminating wisdom. When jealousy arises externally, like having wrong thoughts about others, looking inward, the essence of jealousy cannot be found. Because its nature is pure, jealousy is accomplishing wisdom. Looking outward, ignorance increases, clinging to the self. Looking inward, self-grasping cannot be found. Knowing that all phenomena are without inherent existence, delusion is the wisdom of the dharmadhatu. Thus knowing, depends on the instructions of the guru. With the guru's instructions, when the five poisons arise externally, turn the mind inward and look, the five poisons
