Okay! After saying this, don't be too forceful, and slightly control the breath as it slowly exhales. Occasionally, recite with power the This is the oral instruction for the preliminary practice; one oral instruction is sufficient. The essential point of the preliminary practice, this mind-essence, does it come from any of the ten directions? It doesn't come, it isn't born, it has no beginning. Know that it doesn't exist anywhere, either inside or outside the body. Where does what arises suddenly cease? It doesn't go in any direction or corner. Understanding it in this way is the essential point of the mind. The so-called mind, this rememberer that cannot be defined as good or bad, it doesn't come from any of the ten directions. It isn't born from any thing. Therefore, it has no beginning, and it doesn't exist anywhere inside or outside the body. Whatever arises suddenly doesn't cease either. It doesn't go or come in any direction or corner. Therefore, there is no arising, ceasing, or abiding, no going or coming, etc. To illustrate with a single moment of thought, the previous thought has ceased, the next thought hasn't arisen, and the present moment has no shape or color. Therefore, the two selves of phenomena and person are not separate from the mind. The mind is also just this moment of thought. It has also disappeared, so realize that the two selves of phenomena and person do not exist. If you don't realize the meaning of selflessness, let alone becoming a Buddha, you won't even transcend samsara, so it is very important to meditate on the meaning of selflessness. This concludes the explanation of the preliminary practices. The second common topic is the meaning of the main practice of cutting through, which is divided into three parts: directly giving the nature, deciding at the single point, and abiding in the confidence of liberation. The first part is: The instruction on the main practice of cutting through is: One's own awareness, in a single moment, in order to recognize it on its own ground, keep the body posture and breath comfortable, without fabrication, without distraction, without contraction, the foundation is severed, suddenly open, the Dharmakaya appears nakedly, this is the one and only way to recognize one's own face. This is said to indicate the meaning of cutting through the thoughts of samsara. In order to recognize all phenomena on one's own ground, settle one's own awareness in meditation. After striving in the above three efforts of body, speech, and mind, and learning these three essential points, the body posture and breath are comfortable, the mind is without fabrication, without distraction, without contraction, relaxed, loose, released, and placed in this way, without being established on any foundation.

Without relying on any foundation, empty and clear, the essence is emptiness, bright and radiant, the nature is luminosity. In that state, whatever appears as objects of perception, they effortlessly transform into various forms of compassion. At that time, bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality arise simultaneously, yet one does not stray into error, because non-conceptuality is the experience of emptiness, clarity without attachment, and bliss without clinging. When this state, which cannot be expressed in words, vividly dawns, in that state, the three doors of body, speech, and mind do not stray, but rest naturally as if ceasing from labor. Without straying into error, wisdom returns to its own place, and from that, the appearances of the six consciousnesses arise clearly. By examining external objects, one sees that objects have no substance, like the constructs of illusion and dreams. Practice in the state of emptiness and dissolution. By examining internal experiences, one experiences them like the bliss of one's own youthful wisdom goddess, yet one does not cling to any extreme of existence, non-existence, cessation, or permanence. There is no separation between inner and outer, and one practices repeatedly in that unobstructed, transparent state. The meaning of the inseparability of inner and outer is revealed: all inner and outer phenomena are revealed as the play of the mind's own awareness. The essence of self-awareness, emptiness, is revealed as the Dharmakaya. The nature of clarity is revealed as the Sambhogakaya. The unceasing, diverse manifestations of compassion are revealed as the Nirmanakaya. Remaining in self-luminous non-grasping is revealed as peaceful abiding. The inexpressible arising of experiences is revealed as insight. That all do not abide in any extreme of elaboration is revealed as view. The state of no-meditation, resting naturally in unscattered awareness, is revealed as meditation. All the thoughts of equipoise and post-equipoise, without effort, naturally dissolving into liberation, are revealed as action. In this way, recognition, decisiveness, gaining confidence, perfecting strength, and gaining stability are revealed as the result. And all the practices of this life, the next life, and the bardo are condensed into one essential point and practiced. In this way, let it rest naturally, returning to its own place. Others will also explain it in the preliminary stages, but here it is explained in conjunction with the introduction. And these ten introductions are actually perfected in a single moment of awareness, therefore it is called the Great Perfection. Although there are many methods of forcefully introducing "Trekchö (Tibetan, khregs chod, Sanskrit, utkṣipta, Cutting Through)," here it is just a common way. Second, cutting through to one point: At that time, the thoughts of the five poisons, etc.
