Transformation it is. Second, the actual practice of direct transcendence, the basis of the three placings, resting the appearing awareness nakedly, showing the inseparability of abiding and moving essence, and mixing with the circumstances of self-liberation of whatever appears. First, the basis of the three placings: Thus, when afflictions are self-subdued, even meditating in the midst of a great market, just as more firewood means more flames, the more circumstances increase, the more the power of experience and realization arises. However, for beginners, it is important to rely on a secluded place where thorns do not arise in meditation and where there is no traffic of people or opportunities for enemies to exploit. Thus, the mountain-like placing, the method of placing the body, the key points of the body, should not move from the seven-fold Dharma that illuminates, and should be straightened upright without swaying or bending to the left, right, back, or front. In short, it should be placed upright like a stake driven into the ground. The ocean-like placing, the eyes, the eyeballs should not move and the eyelids should not flutter, but should look like a grain at the sky about an arrow's length away. The awareness-like placing, the essence of self-awareness, should be loosened in its natural state without fabrication and placed effortlessly. Thus, it should not cut off the past, nor welcome the future. Whatever present awareness arises, it should not engage in any searching for this or that, etc., of conceptual thought, but should stare and rest the naked awareness for a moment at its own face. By resting in this way, the proliferation of knowing, such as virtue and vice, negation and affirmation, acceptance and rejection, is pacified. The co-emergent primordial wisdom of clarity and emptiness abiding in the state of original purity is the meaning of direct transcendence. Thus, in the *Uttaratantra*, it says: "In the essence of original purity wisdom, there is no possibility of ignorance. There is no number of one or two. It is not divided anywhere. In the nature of reality, there is no establishment of mere wisdom." And in the *Self-Arisen*, it says: "Transcending the extremes of permanence and annihilation, the stains of the four extremes are self-purified." Thus, the mind abiding in non-proliferation is the Dharmakaya, clarity without clinging is the Sambhogakaya, and the unceasing manifestation of various abilities is the Nirmanakaya. The inseparability of essence, nature, and compassion is: In the *Ornament of Jewels*, it says: "The complete Buddha is self-awareness. The essence does not change in the three times. The nature is always unceasing."
