从内心深处，从骨髓深处生起无法抑制的恐惧，反反复复地修习，这一点至关重要。第三，思维轮回过患的引导是：如果认为死了也没什么可怕的，如果死了之后不用再受生，意识消散无余，那当然没什么可怕的。但事实并非如此，无法脱离恶趣和善趣。如果转生到三恶道，必须承受极其剧烈、漫长且难以忍受的各种痛苦。即使凭借有漏的善业转生到善趣，也无法摆脱痛苦的轮回，这一点我们都亲眼目睹。因此，大业导致堕入地狱，中业导致堕入饿鬼，轻业导致堕入畜生道。首先，思维地狱的痛苦，地狱分为寒热两种。 首先，八热地狱的处所的特点是：铁烧的地面，充满山谷或沟壑，遍布凶猛的鸟类、野兽、狱卒和残暴的刽子手。熔化的铜汁和腐蚀性的液体倾泻而下，一指长的火焰持续燃烧，周围环绕着铁丝网。这是一个令人恐惧和毛骨悚然的地方。在那里受生的中阴众生，在中有阶段，如同被风雨驱赶一般，感受到难以忍受的寒冷，看到热地狱的处所时，便生起对温暖的渴望，如同从睡梦中醒来一般，立即受生。他们的身体有十六肘高，身心都难以承受哪怕是最轻微的刺激。根据痛苦的程度，分为复活地狱、黑绳地狱、众合地狱、叫唤地狱、大叫唤地狱、烧热地狱、极热地狱和无间地狱这八种。首先，复活地狱是：众生之间因敌对意识而互相憎恨，用武器互相攻击，反复死去又复活。有些众生，从天空中降下兵器之雨，身体被切割成成百上千块。此时，从天空传来“愿你复活”的声音，或者微风吹拂，他们立即复活，而这痛苦是他们自己的业力所致。

It is extremely important to repeatedly meditate on the unbearable fear that arises from the depths of your heart and bones. Third, the instruction on contemplating the faults of samsara is: If you think there is nothing to fear from death, and that after death you will not have to be reborn and your consciousness will disappear completely, then of course there is nothing to fear. But that is not the case; you cannot escape the bad and good realms. If you are reborn in the three lower realms, you must endure all kinds of extremely intense, prolonged, and unbearable suffering. Even if you are reborn in a good realm through contaminated virtue, you cannot escape the cycle of suffering, as we have all witnessed. Therefore, great karma leads to hell, medium karma leads to the realm of hungry ghosts, and light karma leads to the animal realm. First, contemplate the suffering of hell, which is divided into hot and cold. First, the characteristics of the eight hot hells are: a ground of burning iron, full of valleys or ravines, filled with fierce birds, beasts, hell guardians, and cruel executioners. Molten copper and corrosive liquids pour down, flames an inch long burn continuously, and the surroundings are surrounded by iron wire mesh. It is a terrifying and frightening place. The intermediate beings who are born there, in the intermediate state, feel unbearable cold as if driven by wind and rain. When they see the place of the hot hell, they develop a desire for warmth, and like waking up from a dream, they are immediately born. Their bodies are sixteen cubits tall, and both body and mind can hardly bear even the slightest stimulus. According to the degree of suffering, they are divided into the Reviving Hell, the Black Line Hell, the Aggregating Hell, the Crying Hell, the Great Crying Hell, the Hot Hell, the Very Hot Hell, and the Uninterrupted Hell. First, the Reviving Hell is: beings hate each other with hostile consciousness, attack each other with weapons, and die and revive repeatedly. Some beings, a rain of weapons falls from the sky, and their bodies are cut into hundreds and thousands of pieces. At this time, a voice comes from the sky saying, "May you be revived," or a breeze blows, and they immediately revive, and this suffering is caused by their own karma.

直到（业力）穷尽为止必须感受（痛苦）。黑线地狱中，狱卒刽子手们从身体的头顶到脚趾涂上四条或八条等等许多黑线，用燃烧的刀剑和锯子劈开和切割的痛苦。众合地狱中，像山羊、绵羊和大象的头一样的（刑具）夹住挤压，像在榨油机里压榨芝麻一样，身体血肉模糊，但又像以前一样复活，直到痛苦没有减少为止必须感受。嚎叫地狱是，看到那些（景象）感到恐惧，产生想要躲藏的念头时，进入燃烧的铁室中，长期无法逃脱的痛苦。大嚎叫地狱是，其他和前面一样，进入两层铁室中，从里面的门逃脱了，也从外面的（门）长期无法逃脱的痛苦。炎热地狱是，像烤鱼一样用铁串烧烤，铁锤燃烧着敲打，用三叉矛从头顶和两个肩膀到排泄道里像倒灰一样刺穿，用单头矛从排泄道到头顶刺穿的痛苦。 装在铁罐里，在地狱燃烧的火焰中受苦。在四肢和舌头上钉钉子等等，有无法想象的痛苦。极热地狱是，在铁铜熔化的锅里全身煮，直到血肉融化变成骨架一样，铺在铁地上，立刻复活，但仍然被煮。用开嘴器打开，灌入铁锤和熔化的铜，嘴巴、喉咙和内脏全部烧焦，最后从下半身像水一样流出来等等，有无法忍受的痛苦。无间地狱是，身体像涂满油的树干一样燃烧，除了难听的声音外，就像无法区分火焰和有情众生一样，那火焰也比劫末的火焰还要热。而且也是，上面的比上面的更热，下面的比下面的热七倍，寿命的长短的区别是。《俱舍论》中说：人间的五十年，是欲界诸天的，最下面的（四大天王天）的一日一夜。因此寿命是五百年。上面的两个（三十三天、夜摩天）都是双倍。依次类推，从等活地狱等六个（地狱），和欲界天人的寿命和日夜相同。

In the Black Line Hell, the hell-guarding executioners draw four or eight, or many, black lines from the crown of the head to the toenails, and the suffering of being split and cut with burning swords and saws. In the Crushing Hell, (beings) are squeezed by (instruments) resembling the heads of mountain goats, sheep, and elephants, like sesame seeds being crushed in an oil press, the body becomes a bloody pulp, but it revives as before, and one must experience it until the suffering is not lessened. The Howling Hell is, upon seeing those (scenes), feeling fear, and the thought of wanting to hide arises, one enters a burning iron chamber, and the suffering of not being able to escape for a long time. The Great Howling Hell is, like the previous one, one enters a two-layered iron chamber, and even if one escapes from the inner door, one cannot escape from the outer (door) for a long time. The Hot Hell is, like grilling fish, one is roasted with iron skewers, beaten with burning iron hammers, and pierced with a three-pronged spear from the crown of the head and both shoulders into the anus like pouring ashes, and the suffering of being pierced with a single-headed spear from the anus to the crown of the head. Being placed in an iron pot and suffering in the burning flames of hell. Piercing nails into limbs and tongue, etc., there are unimaginable sufferings. The Very Hot Hell is, being boiled whole in a molten iron-copper pot until flesh and bones melt and become like a skeleton, then spread on an iron ground, one revives immediately, but is still boiled. Being opened with a mouth-opening device, and molten iron hammers and copper are poured in, the mouth, throat, and all internal organs are burned, and finally flowing out like water from the lower half of the body, etc., there are unbearable sufferings. The Uninterrupted Hell is, the body burns like an oil-soaked tree trunk, and apart from unpleasant sounds, it is as if one cannot distinguish between the flames and sentient beings, and that flame is hotter than the fire at the end of an eon. Moreover, the ones above are hotter than the ones above, and the ones below are seven times hotter than the ones below, and the difference in lifespan is: In the Abhidharma it is said: Fifty human years are, for the gods of the desire realm, one day and night of the lowest (Heaven of the Four Great Kings). Therefore, the lifespan is five hundred years. The two above (Thirty-three Heavens, Yama Heaven) are both doubled. In order, from the Hell of Revival, etc., the six (hells) are the same as the lifespan and days and nights of the desire realm gods.
