First, thoroughly investigate thoughts. Thus, the very root of all samsara and nirvana, this mind alone, is deluded by clinging to what is selfless as self and mine. Then, are the body and speech one with it or separate? If one, should the mind also be visible and audible like the body and speech? Should the body and speech also become imperceptible like the mind? If separate, the body would have no particles, speech would naturally vanish without a trace, and the mind would be like a bird gone without a trace. Then, in the three doors, the self-characteristic dharma of the basis of imputation would not be established even slightly. Knowing this, search for the flaws of the mind in between. This mind, which is said to be clear and lively, where did it originate from, internally and externally, from the container and contents, above and below, in which direction and boundary? Where does it reside now, internally and externally, in the upper, middle, and lower parts of the body? If you think it resides in something like the heart, then in what form, color, and size does it reside? Finally, if you think it vanished like lightning from the east, where will it go and cease, internally and externally? By searching and examining carefully in this way, one should ascertain that its essence transcends the scope of being recognized, is a rootless and baseless, non-dual emptiness, and is free from coming and going. Second, supplementing the internal distinctions with instructions: The seeds of birth in the six realms, which are naturally established in one's own body from the beginning. At the crown of the head, white A(藏文:ཨ་,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿); at the throat, yellow-green SU(藏文:སུ་,梵文天城体:सु,梵文罗马拟音:su,汉语字面意思:苏); at the heart center, blue-green NRI(藏文:ནྲྀ,梵文天城体:नृ,梵文罗马拟音:nṛ,汉语字面意思:内); at the navel, red-black TRI(藏文:ཏྲི་,梵文天城体:त्रि,梵文罗马拟音:tri,汉语字面意思:智); at the secret place, red-white PRE(藏文:པྲེ་,梵文天城体:प्रे,梵文罗马拟音:pre,汉语字面意思:布列); and at the soles of the two feet, smoky DU(藏文:དུ་,梵文天城体:दु,梵文罗马拟音:du,汉语字面意思:杜) and KA(藏文:ཀ་,梵文天城体:क,梵文罗马拟音:ka,汉语字面意思:嘎). Visualize them clearly in accordance with the proper manner. Think that the karmic imprints of birth in the six realms are all gathered in the seeds, like smoke billowing from a coal pit. In the center of the body, visualize the central channel, the right channel, and the left channel clearly in an instant. In the center of the heart, in the central channel, visualize blue HUM(藏文:ཧཱུྃ་,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽); in the right channel, visualize white OM(藏文:ཨོཾ་,梵文天城体:ओं,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡); and in the left channel, visualize red AH(藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:啊). Visualize them as the essence of the three vajras, blazing with radiance and light. When reciting the three syllables seven hundred thousand times with a melodious voice, the fire of wisdom blazes forth from them with a roaring sound, burning away the impairments and obscurations of the three doors in general, and in particular, the seeds and karmic imprints of birth in the six realms, visualizing them as being purified into non-existence. At the end of the session, visualize the black ashes of the burned seeds piled up there, and by uttering PHAT(藏文:ཕཊ་,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪), transfer them from the crown of the head to the throat. Again, by uttering PHAT(藏文:ཕཊ་,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪), move them down sequentially to the heart center and so on. Finally, by uttering PHAT(藏文:ཕཊ་,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪), visualize the ashes from the soles of the feet being flung outwards.

Completely cut off the distractions of focusing on objects, and rest naturally in a rootless state. Second, resting and returning, which has two aspects. The first is: allowing the exhaustion of the three doors from effort to naturally settle into the uncorrected, natural state. On a comfortable cushion, let the body and mind choose whatever posture is comfortable, such as cross-legged or squatting, and remain still. As for speech, there is no need to say anything. Let the breath flow naturally as well. Do not entertain any thoughts of good or bad in the mind, but relax without artifice. In this way, the three doors are purified at their base, and natural meditation arises spontaneously. Guarding this without acceptance or rejection will lead to the accomplishment of peaceful abiding free from faults. The second is: after resting, the mind becomes clear and non-distracted. Through conditions such as objects of focus and views, return to the correct path. This also has two aspects: common and special. The first is: the body maintains the seven-point posture, eyes half-closed, gazing softly at the space in front of the tip of the nose. As for speech, let the breath flow slowly and naturally. As for the mind, no matter how the six consciousnesses arise, do not grasp or reject them, but maintain a non-distracted state. This is the view of the Shravakas. Another view is that by gazing intently at the space in that way, the moment of awareness arises clearly and without interruption, realizing that it is inherently empty, and that appearance and emptiness are inseparable. This is the view of the Bodhisattvas. Without losing that state, stand up and walk randomly. Let the eyes move and look everywhere. Utter sounds like "ha ha," "hi hi," and so on, and bring forth awareness. In this way, all appearances, conditions, and conceptual thoughts are realized as naturally arising, naturally appearing, and naturally dissolving like waves merging into water. This is the view of the Wrathful Deities. Thus, returning awareness through these three views is the intention of the post-mortem guidance. The second is related to a special object of focus: with the body maintaining its key points, visualize at the heart center a golden crossed vajra, in the center of which is a blue Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). Below the center of the vajra, clearly visualize your own awareness as a white A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿), the size of a pea. Then, imagine the A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿) syllable emitting a loud sound and circling the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable above, visualizing it circling twenty to a hundred times or more. When the visualization becomes clear, recite Phaṭ (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:啪), and imagine the A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿) syllable dissolving into objectlessness. Then relax and let the mind rest naturally in its own state, without correction. This can be used as a way to find suppleness, etc.
