The distinction between the Rushen of Samsara and the Rushen of Liberation Nirvana. First, in a secluded place, from the three aspects of the Rushen distinction of body, speech, and mind, the body should perform prostrations and circumambulations as much as possible. This purifies the obscurations of the body. Then, on a cushion, place the soles of the feet together, with the toes planted on the ground. Extend the knees outward. Join the palms together at the crown of the head, without touching the head, and extend the elbows outward. Straighten the body and assume the vajra posture. This averts the obstacles of the body. Finally, release the key points of the body all at once with a "shak." This makes one feel as if the body is collapsing. Afterwards, one will not enter the body of samsara. With speech, recite sutras, dharani mantras, and many prayers. This purifies the obscurations of speech. Then, straighten the body and utter a long "Hum" (ཧཱུྃ,हूँ,hūṃ,seed syllable), drawing the breath inward. Hold the upper and lower breaths together in the abdomen. Alternately, continuously recite "Hum" (ཧཱུྃ,हूँ,hūṃ,seed syllable) without interruption. This averts the obstacles of speech. At the moment of releasing speech, proclaim the sound of "Hum" (ཧཱུྃ,हूँ,hūṃ,seed syllable) loudly and for a long time, making one feel as if the speech is trembling. Afterwards, the stream of samsaric speech will be cut off. With mind, contemplate deities and pure lands extensively. This purifies the obscurations of mind. Then, in a state of non-conceptualization, hold the mind one-pointedly and without distraction. At the moment of releasing the focus, contemplate that all earth, stones, mountains, and rocks have become completely empty. This prevents the mind from wandering in samsara. Through these, recognizing the suffering of the three doors of body, speech, and mind in samsara, the Rushen is performed, and attachment naturally subsides. Second, the distinction of the Rushen of Liberation Nirvana is: Abandon all activities of body, both internal and external, in a state of non-action and non-effort, sit in the lotus posture, place the hands in equipoise, straighten the body and relax it in its natural state. This allows the body to be released from grasping and to go free. Abandon all speech, both internal and external, and let the unutterable breath rest naturally. This allows speech to be released from grasping. Abandon all thoughts, both internal and external, in a state of non-conceptualization, without hope or fear, clear and bright, uncorrected, unaltered, naturally relaxed, and let it rest loosely without grasping. This allows the mind to be released from grasping. Thus, combine this with the power of one's own intelligence and meditate for as many days as appropriate. When discursive thoughts do not arise naturally, utter "Phat" (ཕཊ,फट्,phaṭ,cutting), and with a "shik," break it apart, relax, release, and let it rest. Body, speech, and mind

Realizing emptiness is the way to go to liberation. Therefore, after dividing the component of happiness from nirvana, generate definite understanding of the Dharma, generate devotion to the lama, generate compassion for sentient beings, and after realizing one's own mind, delusion will appear as wisdom. These preliminary practices are like a guide for the blind, so be sure to make them a habit, and then enter the main practice, so that you will surely reach the ultimate shore without error. Second, the main practice is divided into two: one is the pith instruction that liberates all beings of high and low capacity, like lighting a lamp in the darkness; the other is the profound pith instruction that enables beings of medium capacity and above to attain Buddhahood effortlessly, like the sun rising in the sky. First, there are four types: First, by thoroughly cutting through with the view, appearances and mind are definitively recognized as the Nirmanakaya; second, by stabilizing it through meditation, the empty mind is definitively recognized as the Sambhogakaya; third, by training through practice, emptiness is self-liberated and definitively recognized as the Dharmakaya; and finally, the spontaneously accomplished fruit is definitively recognized as the Buddha. First, there are two types: one is to stabilize appearances in the mind, and the other is to recognize reality in oneself. First, if all appearances are not recognized as mind, then even if one strives for virtue in this life, one will not attain Buddhahood and will have to wander in samsara. Therefore, it is crucial to decisively determine illusory appearances as mind. In a secluded place, sit comfortably on a cushion with legs crossed in vajra posture, hands in meditative equipoise, spine straight, eyes fixed on the expanse of the sky without distraction, body relaxed and without contrivance, speech silent, without any thoughts of hope or worry. Past thoughts cease, future thoughts do not arise, and the present is in a state of non-thought in the sky. Remaining in the equality of the three times is the peaceful abiding in the sphere of reality, which is the basis for meditating on emptiness. Therefore, first meditate on it until a sign of the mind having settled is obtained. Then, in that state of abiding, since the door of the mind's arising is not closed, if any thought of the three times arises, do not regard it as a fault, but observe whether that thought resides in your own mind or arises independently. If it is not mind, then when the mind abides in a state of non-thought, the thought must come from somewhere else, but this is not the case. If it is mind, then as soon as one is distracted, non-thought suddenly arises as thought. Observing that arising thought
