The arising wisdom, even for a moment, arises clearly and without interruption. At the very moment of arising, one should realize that it is not established by its own nature, that appearance and emptiness are inseparable like the moon in water. As it is said: With the view of a Bodhisattva, one will surely attain true bliss. The third is the view of the Wrathful One: Without losing the state of meditation, stand up and take random steps. Move the eyes and look around. Utter sounds like "Haha, Hihi" and so on, and concentrate the mind to practice. One should train to realize that self-arising and self-manifesting are free from elaboration, without needing to accept or reject, like a wave dissolving into the ocean. In this way, the more appearances there are, the more the wisdom of emptiness will increase, just as the more firewood there is, the more flames there will be. Therefore, it is said: With the view of the Wrathful One, one will also accomplish three qualities. Thus, the Shravakas cause the three doors to abide naturally, the Bodhisattvas make the abiding stable, and the Wrathful Ones make the stable reach the ultimate and become liberated. From these practices, a special Samatha (calm abiding) arises temporarily, possessing the experience of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality, thereby suppressing gross suffering and afflictions. Ultimately, by realizing the meaning of primordial purity in Vipashyana (insight), one destroys gross afflictions and enters the correct path. In the "Subsequent Meaning Instructions," the other preliminaries are done as before, and "Abiding" and "Returning" are included in the main practice. What is said is like the root of abiding the mind, which is appropriate at this time. But here, it is the same as other instruction texts. In this way, when practicing, if the mind is joyful and engaged, there will be few obstacles and great benefit, so practice. If one is bored and not joyful, even if one practices, it will become an obstacle, like a stubborn horse, and later practice will become annoying, leading to a bad path, so rest a little and then gradually engage in habituation. Second, the instructions on the actual practice of the profound path are divided into: the path of Trekchö, which reveals the nature of primordial purity as free from elaboration, and the path of Tögal, which directly reveals the wisdom of spontaneous presence. The first is further divided into two: establishing the natural state, and recognizing the nature of awareness. The first is further divided into three: from the "Subsequent Meaning Instructions": first, cut off conceptual thoughts; then, find the weak point of the mind; then,

Examine the three abodes. As it is said. First, the investigation is: Among the basis of all actions, the three—body, speech, and mind—who is the one wandering in samsara and becoming a Buddha? Who is the support of happiness and suffering and the agent of negation and affirmation? Is it the three—body, speech, and mind—individually, or a single aggregate that propels the continuity of past and future lives and wanders? Through examination and analysis, it is determined that the root of all this is the mind, like recognizing a thief. In "Vast Expanse of Clarity," it says: "The single one is the basis of all samsara and nirvana." In the "Secret Essence Tantra," it says: "The very nature of mind, without a basis, is the root of all phenomena." In the Dohas, it also says: "The single nature of mind is the seed of all; from it arise samsara and the passing beyond sorrow." What is said, and so on, also refers to this meaning. Second, searching for flaws is: Like this, the root of all samsara and nirvana, this mind grasps all objects as self and clings to "I." Then, are the two—body and speech—related to it one or different? If they are one, just as body and speech are established as visible and audible, why doesn't the mind also become visible and audible? Just as the mind is not perceived as visible and audible, body and speech also should not be visible and audible. If they are each different, the body is indivisible particles, speech vanishes without a trace, and after the mind disappears like a bird flying without a trace, realize the flaw that it is not established as either one or different. That is, the awareness that does not fall into any side of object and subject, arising and ceasing, permanence and annihilation, etc., the clear and bright awareness that is nothing at all, the very transcendence of the object of description as it is, is primordially liberated from the marks of delusion and non-delusion. In the "String of Pearls," it says: "In the primordially pure, there is no saying even 'delusion.' Likewise, what is non-delusion? Therefore, delusion is primordially pure." Like what is said. Third, examining the true nature is: Like this, even if the flaw of the basis is not found, where does the nature of the mind that grasps the selfless as self come from in the beginning? Where does it abide in the middle? Where does it go in the end? How does it arise? How does it remain? How does it cease? Through examination and analysis, because those are not established anywhere, when the antidote of the observer arrives, the object of observation itself, empty in nature, is purified from the root, just like a tree cut off at the root.
