In short, it is also divided into two types. As it is said in the Mulamadhyamakakarika: "This has two kinds of necessity, it should be examined by the distinction of common and supreme." As it is said. Third, there are two ways to abide in the natural state: the actual practice of abiding in the natural state, and restoring to the original position. First, the necessity of abiding in the natural state, and how to abide in it. The first point, as it is said in the "Vast Expanse of Clarity": "The arising and confusion of body, speech, and mind, for the sake of liberating them, abide in the natural state." As it is said. That is to say, whether it is the conceptual thoughts to be abandoned of the Dharma of Samsara, or the conceptual thoughts of the antidote Dharma of virtue, no matter what kind of thought arises, focus the consciousness on the clearest thought and meditate, so that the conceptual thoughts will change, and thus become non-conceptual. For example, just like muddy water, if it is left still, it will become clear. However, if you try to forcibly stop the thoughts at the beginning, not only will the mind not be able to abide, but it will become an obstacle, making it difficult to generate Samadhi. Therefore, it is also said in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Wherefore, in those desires and so on, because of entering in accordance with the method, because of that, liberation is definitely attained, because of that, one can definitely emerge from them." And in the Two Examinations it is said: "Attachment binds the world, but attachment can also liberate." Thus, skillful means are taught. And, "Depending on the object, the non-object arises, depending on the non-object, the non-object arises, therefore the object, becomes the nature of non-object. Therefore, the object, and the non-object are known equally." As it is said in the Discrimination of the Middle and the Extremes. Thus, the distinction between Samsara and Nirvana mentioned earlier, etc., for the coarse aspects of habitual clinging to ordinary appearances, which are easy to arise in the mind, and the subtle aspects such as internal differentiation and increasing stable skill training, gradually gather them, so that the root consciousness is bound without being distracted outwards. Thus, the consciousness six consciousnesses gather into one, so that the mind that scatters outwards is pacified. After that, the support of the six objects of perception, which are related to the uncreated Dharma, is also not taken into consideration, but abides in its own nature, without any conceptualization of appearance and emptiness, and the characteristics of what should be abandoned and what should be antidoted. The so-called "natural state" refers to the meaning of being unadulterated; the so-called "abiding" refers to letting it naturally abide in it, therefore it is called "abiding in the natural state." Second, how

The method of settling is as follows: As it is said in *Transcending the Mind*, "At this time, the key points of body, speech, and mind, those with yoga should settle properly." And as it is said in *After Death*, "Then, those three, body, speech, and mind, should be skilled in settling properly." Therefore, on a comfortable bed, the body and mind should be either cross-legged or squatting, etc., in whatever comfortable and natural position, without moving. As for speech, let alone talking, even the breath should be left without adjustment. The mind, not to mention non-virtuous and neutral thoughts, even virtuous thoughts should be abandoned and left in their natural state. Just as water, if not stirred, becomes clear, the three doors become clear on the ground, thus accomplishing the perfect cause of meditation and tranquility. As it is also said in the *Perfection of Wisdom*, "To practice yoga in the Perfection of Wisdom is to practice yoga in the sky." This is also the same key point. Therefore, temporarily, when the three doors are settled properly, the elements are not disturbed, diseases and calamities do not arise, and one naturally abides in meditation. Ultimately, clinging to the three doors will be liberated into self-purification. Second, indicating the need to return to the original state, and the manner of returning. The first point is, as it is said in *Space Clarity*, "For the sake of realizing the meaning of primordial purity, after settling properly, return to the original state." Therefore, the mind-essence that was previously settled properly, abiding in clarity and non-conceptuality, should be gradually guided and trained through the causes of peaceful, intermediate, and rough conduct. Just as one who wishes to know the turning of a sword first trains with a wooden sword. Second, the manner of returning is, as it is said in *After Death*, "Sravakas, Bodhisattvas, and Wrathful Ones, return to the original state with their own ways of looking." Therefore, first, the way of looking for a Sravaka is to sit with the seven-point posture, without moving. Speech is silent, so the movement of breath naturally slows down. The eyes are fixed on the sky at the tip of the nose. The consciousness of the six aggregates, as it arises, is neither welcomed nor rejected, but left in its natural state. Therefore, the appearance of circumstances is clear in its own essence, yet one should train in not losing the state of non-conceptuality. As it is said in *Space Clarity*, "With the peaceful gaze of a Sravaka, the three doors of body, speech, and mind are settled properly." Thus it is. Second, the way of looking for a Bodhisattva is: other things are as before, but the eyes are shifted from the sky and fixed on the space in front, staring blankly, therefore, the circumstances...
