Although abiding in spontaneous perfection, those who do not realize it in this way, due to their attachment to various appearances, wander in samsara with the ignorance of grasping and being grasped. Between samsara and nirvana, there is only the difference between realization and non-realization. Time arises from the momentary awareness and non-awareness. Fifth, to cut off the extremes of deviation and obscuration, it is taught as actionless and beyond mind: Even if you know that the appearances of the six consciousnesses are non-dual, if you do not cut off the extreme of attachment to experience, you will go astray and be obscured. Restrain the three thoughts of virtue, non-virtue, and neutrality. If there are still subtle parts of good and evil and grasping, then you have not yet cut off the extreme. Therefore, you should diligently practice as before and eliminate direct obstacles. When the marks of dualistic grasping, such as thoughts of good, non-good, neutral, good, and bad, are exhausted, without any calculation, hope, or doubt, the mind beyond grasping is like the center of the sky. If you have thoroughly determined the ultimate non-duality, then do not be artificial, but abide in whatever arises, and focus on it. There is no fear in the direct state of equipoise. In this way, even afterwards, if you relax and abide in the essence, then you will cut off the extremes of deviation and obscuration, and there will be no subtle grasping or thought. You will cultivate actionless and mind-transcending. The way to cut off the extremes is as follows: This unmade, self-luminous essence is naked and bright. Because the essence is clear and appears without interruption, it transcends the mind that grasps at non-existence and cuts off the deviation of annihilation. No matter how it appears, its own nature and essence are not established, so it transcends the mind that grasps at existence and cuts off the deviation of permanence. The unmade, vast expanse does not fall into any side, so it transcends the mind of both existence and non-existence and cuts off the deviation of attachment to the experience of non-duality. Oh! Such a mind-essence, free from extremes and naked, does not remain in the place of understanding, thinking, "It abides like this." It does not remain in the conceptual mind, thinking, "It is like this." Experience it directly, and it arises in the lineage. If you gain stability in this, then all appearances and mind are of one essence, inexpressible, decisive, and self-liberated. In the inseparability of equipoise and post-equipoise, the surrounding samsara and peace are liberated as the Great Seal. It is not harmed by sin. Knowing that the appearances of samsara and nirvana are the play of the nature of reality, the two obscurations of afflictions and knowledge are purified in their own place. Since there is no evil rebirth or other six realms outside of one's own mind, the conceptual mind that binds is also free from the three places of going, coming, and abiding.
