When the activity is in this conceptual thought, a definite feeling arises, thinking, "I don't seem to recognize it." Just then, the movement self-liberates, and thoughts dawn as wisdom. By practicing in this way, conceptual thoughts appear nakedly. However, those with lesser abilities only think that both meditation and post-meditation are emptiness self-illuminating. After being liberated from the mind's clinging, investigating the root of the clinging subject is to turn the clinging thought-mind inward and look at it nakedly. Gathering inward the appearance of external objects, arising, entering, going, and coming. Since no characteristic, not even a particle, is established as "what is this," there is no place of arising, because there is no place of arising. Because of the key point of no object, there is no place of dwelling. Because of the meaning of no cessation, the final place of going is not found. Since it is not an object of thought, speech, and mind, habits are not generated. It is not destroyed by conditions. It is primordial, naked. In a state free from partiality, self-nature appears nakedly. Yes! The appearances of the six consciousnesses are understood as like people one is familiar with from the past. In reality, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana are determined to be the dharmakaya of self-nature. When there is no one wandering in samsara, a feeling of "how pitiful!" arises from the depths of one's heart for those who have not realized this. The lama is seen as the Buddha, the root is severed, awareness is realized nakedly, and the environment appears as Mahamudra. Even though it is impossible to meditate, one merely maintains non-distraction. Fourth, the introduction to vipashyana through self-arising non-duality is according to the individual's faculties. The lama should understand the introduction of scripture and realization. For those with superior faculties, realization and liberation occur simultaneously. Because of knowing that appearance and mind are non-dual, one gains mastery over the relative truth, and experience is determined to be non-dual samsara and nirvana. For those of middling capacity, the mind that clings to objects is not left outside, and awareness that clings to the subject is not fixated upon internally. By practicing the non-duality of matter and awareness, one is liberated from the non-duality of appearance and emptiness. In this way, because of knowing that appearance and mind are non-dual, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana are determined to be of one taste. For those of lesser capacity, one does not gain mastery over the relative truth. Even though sudden confused thoughts are cut, because of relying on past clinging, even for a single subtle conceptual thought, the mind loses the ability to see appearance and mind as non-dual. For those who have not severed doubt, the introduction to post-meditation vipashyana from the basis of meditation is the external appearing things and the internal

If one examines carefully whether there is a discriminating mind that makes things dual, it does not go beyond the non-dual. Therefore, no proponent of dualistic clinging is established. All appearances are equally just the radiance of mind. Therefore, even when appearing as diverse, its essence is emptiness. Even in emptiness, memories and thoughts do not cease, but appear as diverse. Therefore, appearance and emptiness are inseparable, like the sun and its rays, a river and its waves, sandalwood and its fragrance, being of one essence and without difference. By realizing this, the fetters of grasping and being grasped are self-liberated. Whatever appears outwardly is known to be groundless and transparent, and although it moves in various ways, the very nature of mind is thoroughly understood as unborn. Therefore, the thoughts that arise from the mind, which are active, are self-liberated without being abandoned. Whatever arises is appearance-emptiness, sound-emptiness, feeling-emptiness, experience-emptiness, touch-emptiness. Thus, arising from the mind, the mind is the empty Dharmakaya, empty like water and waves. Oh, whatever the manner of appearance may be, its essence does not go beyond the mind, the Dharmakaya. The manner of appearance does not cease. For example, in the sky, without any movement, various things such as clouds and rainbows appear, but their essence does not go beyond the sky, and the sky does not move even for a moment. Similarly, although the mind, the Dharmakaya, does not move, the manner of appearance appears as various things such as samsara and nirvana. Even if billions and billions of ways of appearing arise, the source of arising, the three realms, does not go beyond the mind. Like the elixir of gold, or fire and heat, whatever thoughts arise, like snow in the ocean, all become one taste in the mind. Therefore, all appearances and sounds are the part of skillful means, and the absence of inherent existence is the part of wisdom. The non-dual Dharmakaya is vast and all-pervasive. Therefore, since it is primordially pure, there is no need to deliberately abandon thoughts with antidotes, nor is there any need to deliberately cultivate non-thought. If the knowledge of the way things are is liberated in complete purity, then samsara and nirvana, thoughts and Dharmakaya, afflictions and wisdom, sentient beings and Buddhas, even if various names are given, their meaning does not go beyond the very nature of mind, and there is no good or bad in its nature. This meaning, which is primordially pure and beyond the intellect, is called Vipassana, and all the qualities of knowledge will appear. Therefore, this very nature, which is completely pure, from the Buddha above to the worm in the reed below, is without good or bad, and is the equality of the three times.
