Three places (body, speech, and mind), three roots, dakinis, dharma protectors, and places of refuge, etc., are invited to come and dwell inseparably and bestow blessings. Various outer, inner, and secret offerings are offered. I prostrate, offer, praise, and pray to the deities of the Three Family Protectors. Please look upon us with compassion and bestow blessings. Please ripen and liberate us. Fruits, crops, and things to be protected are offered to you, and I pray for refuge. From the refuge of the compassion of the Three Jewels, please protect us from the fear of hail. After praying in this way, recite this mantra: On the sun and moon in the hearts of the deities, the seed syllables are surrounded by mantras, light radiates, accomplishing the two benefits of self and others, and I pray for protection from the fear of hail. By striking with the "E" syllable, may the essence of the five elements of existence and samsara be gathered completely and bestow accomplishments. From the three secret paths of the doe, may rain clouds arise and cover the sky. Thus, recite the essence mantra of the three family protectors. Om Ala Tu. Tumril Du. Prati Prati Bharam Svaha. Practice this continuously. For actual hail protection, there is controlling the sky, gathering water horses, nagas, dragons, and clouds in the sky, and warming the earth. If signs of hail appear in the evening, do this: On the fields and crops of this place, on the eight great lions and jeweled thrones, may the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and victorious ones with their sons reside. May the sound of Dharma fill the sky. May the harmful intentions of obstructing spirits and beings be completely pacified, and may they abide in a state of Bodhicitta. Om Muni Muni Maha Munaye Svaha.
