Since I have promised, now this beautiful, clean, lovely, precious, cherished, needed, and necessary body of mine, generally, I dedicate it as a ransom for all sentient beings of the six realms. Specifically, I dedicate it as a ransom for my kind parents. Even more specifically, I dedicate it as a ransom for my root guru. Especially, since I am giving it as food for you gods and demons, eat it warm if you are quick, or cook it if you are not. I will not have even a sesame seed's worth of attachment. Whoever wants it, take it! Thus, give it away with a completely detached mind. PHAṬ (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट्, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, meaning: to break through). Blend the awareness of the sphere of reality. Throw the food out like garbage, and visualize that all those headed by the harm-doers have gathered as beggars, and because you have given your entire body without reservation, they devour it greedily and without remainder, like vultures swarming a corpse, and blend the awareness of the sphere of reality. The previous blood offerings also belong to the category of throwing away like garbage. In short, no matter what fear or dread arises, now that this body has been given to you, there is not even a speck of attachment to be made. I have not even a single hair's worth of ownership. It is not mine, it belongs to you gods and demons, so do as you please, and let go completely. Afterwards, do not think of yourself, the gods and demons, or the Chöd practice, PHAṬ (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट्, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, meaning: to break through). Blend the awareness of the sphere of reality, throw it into the state of emptiness, and leave it there. In any case, in the end, may all the sins and sufferings of all sentient beings, headed by the harm-doers, ripen on me. May all my happiness and virtue ripen on sentient beings. Think in your heart: May the suffering of sentient beings ripen on me, may all my virtue ripen on them. Thus, dedicate the merit. Third, the completion of the ending, including the limit and the aim, has three aspects: the degree of completion, the aim of the limit, and the key instructions for generating signs of accomplishment. The first aspect also includes three types: the completion in terms of time, signs, and ultimate completion. The first is that it is said that if you practice continuously for three, seven, or ten days, it will be accomplished. It is said that for superior yogis, three completions of the Lhong Chöd can arise in one day. The second is the degree of completion in terms of signs: whether in actual experience or in dreams, many people show respect and service to you, etc., this is the degree of completion of having the gods and demons under your control; becoming the leader and changing the laws, etc., this is the degree of completion of overpowering with power; whatever tasks are assigned to you, etc., this is becoming a servant.

The degree of arising signs: Initially, after many miraculous manifestations occur, one eventually calms down naturally, feeling content and comfortable, experiencing joy and ease, feeling warm and relaxed, with clear and bright awareness, and afflictive thoughts naturally cease. One understands the self, spirits, and miraculous manifestations as non-dual and of the same essence. Arousing the intention to engage in virtuous actions with body, speech, and mind, these are the degrees of signs of having entered the right path. Moreover, regarding whether signs have arisen or not, one should not generate attachment of liking or disliking, nor hopes or worries, but rather maintain everything in equanimity, which is the key. Third, the ultimate and supreme degree of signs is: dreaming of oneself taking a bath, etc., are generally signs of purifying obscurations; in particular, dreaming of a clear sky, etc., will bring forth many auspicious signs. Especially in one's own mindstream, unique experiences and realizations that were never present before will arise, as well as limitless appearances such as mirages. Furthermore, immeasurable qualities such as bodily experiences, verbal experiences, clairvoyance, and magical powers will manifest, and one will be able to accomplish the four activities without any hindrance. Thus, no matter what common or supreme signs arise, one should not be arrogant or elated, but rather remain in equanimity in the state of mother-like wisdom. Second, the ultimate methods of counteracting: In dangerous places, even if one diligently practices the previous practices, signs may not arise, and if miraculous powers and disturbances are very strong, there are three ultimate methods of counteracting. First, placing external spirits in a desperate situation: This method can be used for spirits that have been causing harm from the beginning and cannot be eliminated through cutting, or situations that cannot be pacified no matter what. Applying a dangerous method on top of a dangerous place is a very dangerous act. In places with strong miraculous powers and ferocity, go to a place that is difficult to subdue and stay there. The spirits, unable to bear it, will rise up in chaos. At this time, generate the stability of practice, generate the backing of realization, generate the determination of perseverance, and stay there. The spirits, unable to find an opportunity, will naturally become frightened and flee. Second, placing the intermediate aggregates in a desperate situation: Go to a place with strong miraculous powers and that is difficult to subdue, and tie the end of a rope around your neck to any object that can be relied upon. Third, placing the internal self-grasping in space: Think in this way, this body composed of the four elements, no matter what, cannot escape death. In this world, no one can stay forever. No one can live forever.
