The upper nostril bends and pierces the two nostrils. The lower nostril enters the central channel from below the navel, like the shape of the letter 'cha'. It is said that for women, the positions of the right and left channels are reversed. The way they branch out from the central channel itself is that there are three hundred and sixty petal-channels at the crown of the head, sixteen at the throat, thirty-two at the heart, sixty-four at the navel, and twenty-eight at the secret place. The channel-wheels of the crown of the head are slightly downward like the ribs of an umbrella, the throat is upward, the heart is downward, and the navel and secret place are upward. All of them should be thought of as being empty and clear, without being stained by blood and pus, like the nature of the central channel. For this, one should be put into meditation for three days or so, until it appears clearly. Third, the secret fierce fire, increasing the amount of fire: At the junction of the three channels, on top of the mandala of the sun, visualize a fire seed-syllable in the form of 'ཨ' (Tibetan, Devanagari अ, Romanized Sanskrit a, literal Chinese meaning: A) with a short stroke, with its root placed as if piercing the sun cushion. Clearly meditate on one that has the nature of fire and keep it for a long time. Then, to eliminate the faults of wind: By combining with the previously described points, after exhaling nine times in succession, think that all diseases and evil spirits have gone out from the pores of the hair, and then shake violently with a 'Ha' sound. Then, to train the wind: With the essential points of the body. The key point of speech is to inhale the wind slowly, rotating from right to left, and then press it firmly below the navel and hold the mouth closed. The key point of focus is that the breath enters from the right and left channels, blowing on the 'ཨ' (Tibetan, Devanagari अ, Romanized Sanskrit a, literal Chinese meaning: A) at the junction of the three channels, visualize the flame as small as the tip of a needle, extremely hot to the touch, burning red and glowing, and focus your awareness there, practice breath control as much as possible, and maintain it for a long time. That is, first of all, one should get used to gentle wind, because obstacles are smaller, so mainly practice gentle wind. Once proficient, add a little inhalation each time and meditate. If you can't bear it, exhale. Then, make the fire visualization even bigger. Expand the fire visualization to the navel, heart, throat, and crown of the head, and it is key to meditate without being distracted by other objects, like threading a thread through the eye of a needle. Again, add a little inhalation and hold it. Cross your fingers and hug your knees, then shake your upper body. You can also do one hundred and one abdominal rotations. Rotate your head left and right, and then swing it in four directions. Slide your right fist upwards from your thigh.

While striking the ribs with the palms, swing the shoulders and stretch forward, striking the shoulders with the arms three times. Then repeat in the opposite direction to the left. Strike together with both hands three times, while twisting the upper body alternately to the left and right. Strike the ground with the buttocks while extending the legs straight, striking the buttocks with the heels three times. While performing this exercise routine, only contemplate the fire and exhale forcefully, then adorn with gentle breath. Fourth is to contemplate the blazing and dripping of Tummo, the nature of reality itself: The fire of Tummo melts the syllable ཧཾ(藏文:ཧཾ,梵文天城体:हं,梵文罗马拟音:haṃ,汉语字面意思:吽)at the crown of the head into a form of bliss, filling all the channels and passing through the central channel. The channels of the throat are filled, producing joy. Supreme joy arises in the heart. Separation from joy arises in the navel. Coemergent joy arises in the secret place. Recognize them sequentially, and eventually all the pores are filled. The body merges white and red, and the mind focuses on the nature of bliss, remaining in equanimity. Again, from the secret place to the navel, the heart, etc., sequentially send the four joys of the lower stability to the syllable ཧཾ(藏文:ཧཾ,梵文天城体:हं,梵文罗马拟音:haṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), maintaining the continuity of bliss and emptiness. Usually, gather the fire visualization into A-shad, gather the bindu into the syllable ཧཾ(藏文:ཧཾ,梵文天城体:हं,梵文罗马拟音:haṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), and maintain continuous practice. In this way, after gaining stability in the practice of Tummo, in order to generate the qualities of wind, one must master vase breathing. For this, there are three aspects: time, the key points of grasping, and signs. First, when there is a strong storm of wind, drowsiness, physical discomfort, and when breathing occurs through the right nostril, this is the wind of affliction. If one forces the practice at this time, obstacles such as wind disorders will arise, so do not exert effort. When breathing occurs through the left nostril, the wind of wisdom flows, and if one exerts effort at this time, wisdom will become clear and the qualities of increasing realization will arise. When breathing occurs through both nostrils simultaneously, it is the wind of union flowing, and if one forces the practice at this time, there is a need for the wind and mind to enter the central channel. Second, the key points of grasping are: adjust the body posture well and expel the toxins of wind, tighten the lower wind, and strongly suppress the upper wind. The key point of visualization is to unite wind and mind as one, and at the place of the Great Mother, where the three channels converge, focus unwaveringly on A-shad. In this way, the previously flowing channels will feel full and uncomfortable. Then add a small inhalation, perform patting and shaking, etc., and suppress again.
