Now, may the nature of the protective knot have the power to protect the three doors of the disciple from obstacles. Rub the protective cord between the palms and recite Oṃ Vajra Krodha Amrita Kuṇḍali Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཀྲོ་དྷ་ཨ་མྲྀཏ་ཀུཎྜ་ལཱི་ཧཱུྃ༔, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र क्रोध अमृत कुण्डलि हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra krodha amṛta kuṇḍali hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Vajra, Wrathful, Amrita, Coiled) twenty-one times, etc., followed by the mantra's conclusion. Mainly to protect against obstacles to the transformation of bodhicitta, tie it twice around the left arm of a male and the right arm of a female, and make a knot. Hūṃ! (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ༔, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ) This thread with five wisdoms, for the sake of eliminating the body's faults, is blessed with the heart mantra of the yidam. May it be victorious over obstacles and demons! At the end of the root mantra and the winding mantra, add Vajra Raksha Hūṃ Phaṭ (Tibetan: བཛྲ་རཀྵ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ༔, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्र रक्ष हुं फट्, Sanskrit Romanization: vajra rakṣa hūṃ phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Vajra Protection Hūṃ Phaṭ). After tying it, also make a knot and apply a drop of perfume and a vajra seal. By tying the protective cord in two circles, it protects against obstacles day and night. A fathom's length mainly symbolizes protecting against obstacles to the body. Folding it into three layers symbolizes the three objects of purification: body, speech, and mind. Tying three knots with five-colored vajra knots symbolizes the purification of the five aggregates and elements into the five wisdoms, and the blessing of the three doors into the three vajras. This mainly purifies the obscurations of the body and temporarily protects against obstacles to examining dreams tonight. Ultimately, it manifests the auspicious connection of attaining the state of the three kāyas Vajradhara and completely triumphing over the army of the four maras. Seventh, giving the tooth stick: Cleansing and purification. From the state of emptiness, may the tooth stick with excellent characteristics, whose nature is the wrathful Hayagriva, have the power to examine the signs of the disciple's accomplishment. Bless it by reciting Oṃ Vajra Krodha Haya Grīva Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཀྲོ་དྷ་ཧ་ཡ་གྲཱྀ་བ་ཧཱུྃ༔, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र क्रोध हय ग्रीव हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra krodha haya grīva hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Vajra Wrathful Horse-Neck Hūṃ). The vajra master recites Oṃ Vajra Hāsa Ha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཧཱ་ས་ཧ༔, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र हास ह, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra hāsa ha, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Vajra Laugh Ha) while distributing the tooth sticks. That is, when the vajra master gives the tooth stick, receive it with palms together. During the recitation, make the mudra of the sphere of space, that is, with the thumbs touching palm to palm, hold the root of the tooth stick and make a gesture of brushing the teeth, and hold the flower-bearing tip of the tooth stick between the middle fingers with all the fingers extended straight. With such a mudra, make a slight brushing gesture, and at the same time, visualize that the rays of light emanating from the tooth stick expel all the diseases, evil spirits, and defilements from within the belly, like a skilled doctor administering an emetic, in a black mass, and they dissolve into the golden foundation of the great power.

I cast the flower at the top towards the mandala, thinking, "Please clearly show the signs of accomplishment," so please repeat this. HO! This toothpick given by the lama, in order to recognize the assembly of secret mantra deities, I cast it into the center of the mandala. Let it fall upon the deity of whichever palace it may be. Om, Vajra, Laugh, Ha). Thus, cast the toothpick into the center of the mandala and observe the signs. By casting the toothpick in this way, the obscurations of speech are temporarily purified. If the tip falls in the center and points towards oneself, it is the supreme and principal vidyadhara. If one looks to the directions and above and below, one will obtain the accomplishment of the retinue deities and their lineage, which is supreme. If one looks to the four directions, it is the four activities in order, and above and below are the sky-goers and earth-goers. If one looks to the four corners, it is a sign of worldly accomplishments such as the vase, the wish-fulfilling tree, the cow, and the crops. Moreover, if one hits these fruits above with one casting of the toothpick, it is this life. Two is the bardo. Three is certain to be obtained in the next life. If it does not hit there and falls outside, it is said that one will temporarily lose the opportunity for accomplishment, so one should strive to accumulate merit and make up for deficiencies. Thus, the symbolic meaning is conveyed. Eighth, giving a handful of water: Wash and purify the water with the fragrance of the conch shell. From emptiness, the conch water becomes the Great Wrathful One, with a nature that cannot be overcome by others, and with the nature of being able to purify the mental obscurations of the students. Om, Vajra, Wrath, Unconquered, Hum). Recite and bless it. While reciting that mantra, pour it into the left palm of the student, and after drinking three sips, have them throw the remainder behind them. Thus, drinking three sips is to purify the impurities of the three doors. Throwing the remainder behind means turning away from non-virtue. Moreover, with a handful of water, dreams become clear temporarily, and the obscurations of body, speech, and mind in general, and especially the mind, are purified. Ultimately, purifying the three obscurations together with their imprints is the auspicious connection for manifesting the fruit of the three kayas. Ninth, giving kusha grass: Wash and purify the bundles of kusha grass, large and small, equal to the number of students. From emptiness, kusha grass born from Dhīḥ (藏文,梵文天城体:धी,梵文罗马拟音:dhīḥ,汉语字面意思:Dhih) and Hūṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:हुṃ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum), blue-green, soft like the neck of a peacock, and comfortable to the touch. It has the power to make the dreams of the students not confused and clear.
