Medicines, internal and external necessities. The earth deity needed for the first day, the local deity. White torma for the Four Great Kings, red torma for the door plaque, obstacle torma. Completing the Tsog offering, etc. Victory banner, objects for suppressing evil spirits. All necessities, starting with the inner and outer door plaques, should be prepared. Second, the preliminary activities are: On the morning of entering the actual retreat, clean the retreat place and sprinkle the five elixirs. As it says in "Secret Eye-Opening": "Above, hang a Dharma banner, in the center an umbrella, and banners in the four directions. In the four directions, erect victory banners." If possible, arrange them accordingly. In the back, place the supports of the Three Roots, especially the commitment body of the Wrathful Secret One, either painted or sculpted. In front of it, on a clean platform, arrange white torma and cleansing water. Sit comfortably on a cushion with a white Yungdrung drawn on it, facing the deity. Recite the Seven-Line Prayer and the Lineage Prayer first, then take refuge and generate Bodhicitta three times according to the ritual text. Imagine yourself instantly transforming into the powerful Wrathful Secret One of Padma, with blazing ornaments. To accomplish the cleansing water: Purify the action vase. The vase is non-existent, from the state of emptiness. Inside the vase, on a lotus and sun disc, is the red and black HRIH (ཧྲཱིཿ,hrih, hrih,Great Essence). The mantra garland surrounds the border, emitting sparks of vajra fire. From that, light radiates to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and their retinues. Their blessings, power, and abilities transform into the mantra garland. Absorbed back, it becomes a stream of non-dual elixir. Red and black flames blaze, filling the vase. It becomes the power, strength, and ability to destroy all obstacles and adverse conditions. Recite Om Ram Krodha, etc., as many border mantras as possible. Finally, the mantra garland and the seat dissolve into light, its essence being the nature of the wisdom deity, its form being red and black elixir, emitting sparks of fire, possessing the power to purify obstacles. Having visualized this, use this for all incense offerings and tormas from now on. In this tradition, the offering of the earth deity torma is done after the boundary is set, but since the purpose is the same and it is convenient to practice together, take it from this ritual text or the Kagyu practice collection, etc., whichever is convenient, and perform the offering of the earth deity torma and the white torma to the local deity, entrusting them with the task of helping with the practice and removing obstacles.

Cleanse with TOR RAM KRODHA. Let RAM subdue YAM, and KHAM fill the space. Bless with OM AH HUM. Consecrate with A three times. HRIIH, from the great and glorious, unsurpassed mandala. From here, recite Sumbhani, visualizing the expulsion by the ten wrathful deities and the ging. Then, the demarcation of boundaries, of which there are two: conventional means and ultimate wisdom. The first is: As explained in the sadhana, the outer boundary is entrusting the four great kings with activities, which is to erect banners at the door, and to perform generation, absorption, offering, praise, and entrusting of activities. The intermediate boundary is pressing down the linga of the dam sri at the door, and hanging door plaques of Yama and the swirling nectar inside and outside. These are taken from one's own tradition or from the sadhana instructions of any of the upper or lower terma, such as the Eight Commands of the Kagye. The inner boundary is the boundary of the great self, which is explained in six ways: One's self is generated as the sole form of Hayagriva, the hero. The boundary of the wrathful play is: From the HRIIH in the heart of oneself, clear as the deity, emanate a vast assembly of wrathful deities, from Mount Meru to the smallest particle, countless in number, visualizing that all above, below, and in all directions are filled. The boundary of various weapons is: Vajras, swords, curved knives, enemy weapons, etc., immeasurable, swirling like a blizzard, visualizing that their roots are directed inward and radiating outward. The boundary of the fence and tent is: Three layers of vajra tent, and three layers each of fire, wind, and water tents. Meditate on the previous wrathful deities and the tent of weapons, making fourteen in total. Alternatively, outside the weapons, there is a vajra fence, followed by water, wind, and fire, these four being done in three layers each. The boundary of clarifying words is: Reciting "HRIIH, from the great and glorious, unsurpassed mandala," and so on. The boundary of mantra recitation is: OM RAM KRODHA, and so on. The extent of these protective circles is from the peak of existence to the Avici hell, or like the outer iron fence, or from Akanishta to the wind mandala, like a three-thousandfold great thousand world system, meditating on whatever size one can imagine. The demarcation of the ultimate boundary also has three aspects: The boundary of the meaning of the abiding reality is: Visualizing that all conventional phenomena are like waves moving on water, being the magical display of the mind, and that the essence of the mind is pure from the beginning, the ultimate reality being free from the three aspects of arising, ceasing, and abiding, recognizing one's own nature. The boundary of song and dance is: Dancing with excellent faculties, namely body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities.
