From now until reaching the Bodhi tree, I take refuge. I confess all the sins and faults accumulated through the three doors of body, speech, and mind. For the benefit of all sentient beings, I aspire to attain Buddhahood. For this purpose, I practice the supreme path of Vajrayana, generating the entering Bodhicitta. Please clearly remember and repeat after me. Namo! The three roots and the three jewels, all the sacred objects of refuge, from now until I have not attained enlightenment, I take refuge in you with the purity of the three doors. I confess all non-virtues and sins. For the benefit of all beings, I generate the aspiring Bodhicitta, and engage in actions that benefit and bring happiness to beings with body, speech, and mind. Repeat three times. Arrange the fence of toothpicks, including the images of the five Buddha families. Offer the toothpicks. In order to examine the lineage and fortune, please hold this toothpick until the palms are joined, and please show which lineage it is related to and what the fortune is like. After reciting this prayer, please throw it. This toothpick given by the Lama, practice with great compassion and union, please throw it in the center of the mandala. Let the karmic and fortunate ones fall to this place. After throwing it in this way, observe which direction the tip of the toothpick points to, that is its lineage and activity. Pointing to the corner indicates that one can obtain a small amount of accomplishment. Pointing upwards indicates that one can accomplish the Dakini. Pointing downwards indicates that one can accomplish the earth-goers. It is said that these can be accomplished. Braid five strands of protection thread into three Vajra knots, and recite the heart mantra of the Yidam and the thirty-five wrathful mantras. Tie this Vajra knot on the left arm of the male and the right arm of the female, please believe that it can protect the three doors from all obstacles. Hūṃ! (Tibetan) This thread with five wisdoms, made into a protective Vajra knot, may it protect from obstacles and demons! Recite after the Yidam mantra: Vajra Raksha Raksha Hūṃ! (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्र रक्ष रक्ष हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: vajra rakṣa rakṣa hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Vajra Protection Protection Hūṃ) After tying it, bless the knot with the Vajra mudra. Clean with perfume and pure water, in order to clearly and without confusion observe the auspicious and inauspicious omens in dreams, please take a small bundle of auspicious grass as a pillow and a large bundle as a cushion. Son of lineage with karmic connection and good fortune, this pure and auspicious grass, in order to clearly reveal the signs of accomplishment, use it as your sleeping pillow and cushion.
