When the earth awakens from its slumber, one should recognize that this appearance is like a dream, an illusion, devoid of inherent existence. Furthermore, the oral instructions of King Songtsen Gampo, an emanation, are exceptionally profound instructions for one's own benefit, the six practices to be carried out: One's own virtuous deeds, one should do oneself; one's own fasting, one should observe oneself; one's own corpse, one should cremate oneself; one's own funeral, one should conduct oneself; one's own funerary offerings, one should give oneself; one's own bones, one should carry and conceal oneself. These are the six practices. Firstly, one's own virtuous deeds, one should do oneself, meaning that whatever practice of Great Compassion Avalokiteśvara one engages in, it must be connected with compassion. Therefore, first, think that all of one's wealth, desirable objects, enjoyments, attendants, and everything else, are given as charity to all sentient beings. Instantly generate Great Compassion within oneself, make the right hand gesture of supreme generosity, and recite: "All of my sons, daughters, siblings, family, wealth, desirable objects, enjoyments, whatever there may be, I give all of these to all sentient beings of the three realms and six destinies, according to their desires." By reciting "Om Mani Padme Hum," think that each and every one receives whatever they desire. If one thinks, "Will this harm my retinue and enjoyments?" it means one has not truly relinquished. Bound by attachment, it will not transform into a collection of merit. Therefore, one should completely sever clinging and attachment, and by repeatedly giving in this way, one's retinue and enjoyments will increase in this life, illnesses, demonic influences, and suffering will be pacified, and in the future, one will obtain immeasurable enjoyments and merit. This practice should be kept secret from everyone, which is crucial, because if others know, some may criticize, saying, "Since you have given so much, you should give me such and such." This is the speech of demons, an obstacle, so keep it secret from others. There is no practice more superior to this virtuous deed for training the mind, and no merit greater. Secondly, one's own fasting, one should observe oneself, meaning that on the eighth, fifteenth, twenty-second, twenty-ninth, or empty days, with seven days in between, during those auspicious times, offer whatever offerings one can to the Three Jewels, give whatever charity one can to the six realms of beings, meditate on Great Compassion Avalokiteśvara oneself, and give whatever charity one can, reciting "Om Mani Padme Hum."

Recite "Om" seven times and contemplate satisfying all sentient beings with whatever they desire through generosity. In speech, recite: Pure realms of the three realms, Guests of compassion in the three existences, Substances pervading all without exception, Through the power of emptiness of Dharma-nature, May it be dedicated as an inexhaustible treasure. Recite this three or seven times. That is, contemplate the three realms of the desire realm, form realm, and formless realm as the pure lands of great compassion. Above are the existences of gods and demigods, in the middle are the existences of humans and animals, and below are the existences of hell beings and hungry ghosts. Consider these three existences as guests of compassion, and pervade them all without any distinction of victory or defeat, great or small. Through the power of the union of emptiness and compassion, which is the meaning of Dharma-nature, dedicate and bestow an inexhaustible treasure of immaculate jewels. Like this, if you give four offerings each month and do not interrupt the seven-day rituals, you will avert all the bad omens of this life and obtain abundant enjoyment in the next life. Doing this now is definitely more meritorious than having relatives perform the seven-day rituals after death, even a hundred thousand times more. Third, burning one's own corpse by oneself: Anytime is fine. Visualize a red Raṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:रं,梵文罗马拟音:raṃ,Flame) at the navel of your ordinary self, and a smoky Yaṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:यं,梵文罗马拟音:yaṃ,Wind) at the soles of both feet. Visualize wind arising from these two Yaṃs, and fire blazing from the Raṃ at the navel. With the fire of wisdom, which possesses the heat and bliss of warmth, completely burn away the five aggregates, five poisons, conceptual thoughts and attachments, clinging and bad habits of your own body. Transform your own mind into a white Hrīḥ (藏文,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,Great compassion). Visualize that from the natural sound of Om (藏文,梵文天城体:ओं,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,Body, speech, and mind), Mani (藏文,梵文天城体:मणि,梵文罗马拟音:maṇi,Jewel), Padme (藏文,梵文天城体:पद्मे,梵文罗马拟音:padme,Lotus), Hum (藏文,梵文天城体:हूं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,Seed syllable), the Hrīḥ dissolves into light, and ultimately transforms into the body of the Great Compassionate One. Doing this is more meritorious than burning the corpse at the time of death. Burning one's own karmic obscurations and habits now is a hundred thousand times more meritorious. In this life, one will not be overcome by sickness, evil spirits, or obstacles. In the next life, one will not be obstructed by obscurations. Fourth, giving away one's own corpse by oneself: Anytime is fine. Go to a place that is not your own home, such as a monastery or a mountain, etc. First, thinking that you are giving your own substantial body made of flesh and blood to all sentient beings according to their needs, visualize your right hand as a sharp weapon, the sword of wisdom, and your left hand as the skull cup of compassion. Holding your own body with the skull cup, first with the sword
