When the mind merges, conceptual appearances arise as wisdom. Fourth, in the state of no-meditation in childhood, the after-effects of experience merge, and without a place of distraction or a distractor, the nature of reality is condensed into a single bindu. Fifth, in the state of no-meditation in adulthood, the after-effects of realization merge, and the field of distraction arises as the nature of reality. Sixth, in the state of no-meditation in old age, the appearance of the exhaustion of the nature of reality of trekchö becomes manifest, transcending the realm of expression. The benefits of these four are: "Thoughts subside and the essence is seen; dualistic wisdom becomes manifest." It is said that the benefits of practicing these stages as described above are: by diligently practicing common meditation, the collection of thoughts subsides into the realm of reality, and the mind abides in its own nature. In particular, by cutting off the thoughts of object and subject, and abiding equally in one's own nature, the essence of reality is seen. By resting in the unchanging realm of reality, the wisdom of reality, the union of calm and insight, becomes manifest. Therefore, those who are fortunate should practice this supreme secret path with one-pointedness. The third general meaning, the subsequent instructions, has three parts: the post-session conduct, the yoga of the breaks between sessions, and the explanation of the ultimate result. The first is: "Seal the post-session with dedication and aspiration." It is said that after dividing the four sessions and so on, one meditates single-pointedly on the yoga appropriate to each occasion in samadhi. When one arises from that and begins to engage in conduct, one seals it with a dedication, either actual or in accordance with it, that all the white qualities accumulated by oneself and others in the three times, represented by this merit, may easily be liberated into the primordial realm of all sentient beings pervading space, with the purity of the three spheres. And one makes great aspirations of the uncommon Mahayana as much as one can. Even if one cannot always do it extensively, it is very important to fully develop the roots of virtue with a concise and pure dedication and aspiration. Second, the yoga of the breaks between sessions has three parts: the conduct of the field of activity, the essential points of the intention, and how the four experiences arise from it. The first is: "Freely use the six senses during the breaks between sessions; abandon the intellectual discriminations of understanding as you please; do not cling to experiences, but repeatedly break them down." It is said that in samadhi

That very wisdom of naked awareness, even in the post-attainment phase, is held by the mindfulness of the nature of reality. The object of the eye is form, the object of the ear is sound, the object of the nose is smell, the object of the tongue is taste, the object of the body is touch, and the object of the mind is conceptual thought, appearing as phenomena. Thus, however the apprehended and the apprehender of the six consciousnesses arise, external objects are not obstructed, and internal consciousness does not grasp. Like a child seeing a temple, self-luminous, without grasping, freely and openly, appearances and mind are liberated in the groundless and rootless state. The omniscient Longchenpa said: 'The six consciousnesses are free, like the mind of a child. Self-luminous, unmoving, they arise as great wisdom.' And: 'When whatever appears is free from fabrication and corruption, the grasping at self, without abandoning consciousness, is liberated in the expanse. Self-abiding, independent, the supreme king of meditation, vast and open awareness arises like the sky.' This explanation is words. Understanding is intellect. If the meaning beyond intellect is not realized, then the nature of reality will never be realized through intellectual effort. Therefore, as long as there is a place to establish cessation of elaboration, non-fabrication, and suchness, there will be no non-intellectual touch. Therefore, it is important to cast away all the subtle and gross grasping of mental discrimination belonging to the mind, as you please. Inherent nature has no memory. Manifest appearance and realization have no acceptance or rejection. The exhaustion of the mind-stream has no consciousness. The simultaneous has no real intellect. So it is said. Initially, during the practice of calming the mind, and so on, like being unable to part with the good experience of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, and also as a sign that the energy has slightly entered the central channel through the power of resting in the nature of reality, whatever kind of experience of knowledge or appearance arises, if you cling to it, you will fall into error. Therefore, without clinging to anything, look at the face of the experiencer and repeatedly destroy it in the sphere of non-thought. From then on, the experience will clear and become a friend who helps to meet the face of realization. Second, the crucial point of the intention is: 'Recognizing the self-arisenness of thoughts, deciding on that very thing alone, not separating from the meaning of non-meditation, therefore the apprehended and the apprehender are liberated like a snake knot, holding the key to that intention.' This is what is taught. If the essence of what is always to be practiced is condensed, then although conceptual thoughts pervade their own nature, the present awareness, without past or future memory, discrimination, thought, or fabrication, is recognized in its own nature.
