Please listen. (Repeat three times) Please give ear to this request for granting, bestowing, and proclaiming vows. Ho! Children, listen to me well. This mandala of secret mantra is difficult to enter and has great faults. If the vows are broken, you will be destroyed. If you keep the vows, you will be given empowerment. Thinking that you will protect the vows as you would your life, repeat after me. Emaho! In this unsurpassed supreme mandala, we are fortunate ones who have had faith from the beginning. Disregarding body and life, we vow to protect the supreme vows and request empowerment. In front of the visualized deity, the three roots, the mandala of the Buddhas, and the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who have been invited to be present, in order to accumulate merit and purify obscurations, we will gather the essence of prostration, offering, confession of sins, etc. Please remember the meaning and repeat after me these ten limbs. All Buddha-fields, immeasurable and boundless, etc. (Repeat three times as in the ritual text). To those who have become the ultimate refuge, I and others will go for refuge until we attain enlightenment. With great compassion, we will generate the supreme mind of enlightenment for the benefit of others. Please repeat after me. As in the ritual text, repeat the refuge and bodhicitta three times each. Thinking that we will take and keep well all the vows and commitments of individual liberation, bodhisattva, and mantra, which are the basis and root of all qualities, please repeat after me. Ho! Guru, Three Jewels, Yidam deity, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Dakinis, etc., I beseech all the holy beings who reside in all directions and times to regard me with love. I am Vidyadhara Vajrasattva, from this time forth, having been completely taken care of, until I attain supreme enlightenment, the vows of body, speech, and mind, the vows of individual liberation, bodhisattva, and secret mantra, I will keep them properly. The vows and commitments of the Sugata Vajra, Ratna, and Padma Karma families, I will keep them all. Those who have not crossed over, I will liberate them all. Those who have not been liberated, I will liberate them from all places. Those who have not yet passed away, I will also cause them to pass away and place them in peaceful nirvana. Having thus obtained it, with a joyful mind, I will firmly hold it. The signs are bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality. In experience and realization, those that arise in the three doors, each of which is divided into clarity, extreme clarity, and most clarity, are in turn body, speech, and mind. These nine divisions are also the nature of one wisdom, inseparable, the nature body union, the empowerment seal of words, the primordial non-dual body, and the spontaneously accomplished wisdom.
