Then, Vairotsana thought: Staying in this Tibetan land is not beneficial for sentient beings. Moreover, the Indian scholars also said: If you have the essence of the teachings, wherever you go is a field for taming. Do not propagate the profound Dharma, leave here quickly. Now the time has come, I intend to leave without informing the king. He packed the 'Bodhisattva Conduct Sutra,' 'Sutra of the Conduct of the Lower Realms,' and 'General Collection of Sutra Views' into a box. Vairotsana reported to the Great Dharma King: O King, who has raised me with kindness since childhood, please generate faith and respect for this sacred Dharma. The queen and ministers, deluded by demons, do not like the true Dharma and are jealous. These precious and profound Dharmas that I have translated will not decline, the Guru has prophesied. At some point, whether the time is ripe or not, I will go elsewhere. May Your Majesty be healthy, and may we meet one day. Please allow me to propagate the sacred Dharma. The king was displeased and did not say that, but said: There is no need to teach the Dharma to those without capacity. I request you to explain the profound Dharma to me. Vairotsana compassionately said 'Okay' to the king. After that, to avoid being seen by others, he dug a hole in the side of the pillar and hid inside. During the day, he did not teach the Dharma, but only practiced essence extraction. In the evening, the king came to request the Dharma, telling true stories. After some time, the queen thought: The king is not here every night, is he looking for another woman? Suspicious, she secretly observed where the king was going. She saw Vairotsana teaching the Dharma and being respected. The red-clad queen beat the big drum, and all the ministers gathered together immediately. The queen said: Everyone gathered here, listen, that exiled person must be someone else. The evil sorcerer is hidden very deeply, and the king is learning various methods of destruction. Now catch him, and in a place where you can see with your own eyes, cut off his neck with a sharp knife, you must kill him. Everyone agreed and went to the king's residence. Tara Lhugong said angrily: Deceiving yourself, King of Tibet, you say you are translating the Dharma, but in reality you are learning various evil spells, breaking vows, and pointlessly exiling beggars, hiding the evil spirits that destroy the country, destroying all the Bon protectors who serve the ancestors, doing things that are not like the Dharma. Kill that evil sorcerer right now, cut off his head and limbs.

He shouts loudly. The king couldn't bear it, and his anger flared up. What everyone should respect is the king's law. Listening to his orders is called a minister. With a small head and a large tail, like worms and ants. Vairochana is the true teaching lama. If you like killing, (the king said) you can kill yourself. He took a sharp sword in his hand. His face was as red as lungs stained with blood. The queen and ministers were all intimidated. Daring not to say anything, they just sat in silence. The horse rancher and Longong were so frightened that they bowed to the gods. The king demolished the place where the Buddha statue was erected and took the stones. The red-clad ministers fled in fear. Lord Trisong Detsen went to Vairochana. Crying, he said, 'You are my most beloved only son!' The unchaste queen and all the ministers said, 'We heard he is staying here, what should we do?' Vairochana said, 'Father, you are a saint. Now, in order to fulfill their wishes, please grant them what they ask for!' If there is no karmic connection, wishes will not be fulfilled. If the powerful karmic imprints still remain, I am not afraid of being killed, and I have no regrets even if I die. Even if the Dharma I have learned does not benefit now, I pray that it will benefit sentient beings in future lives.' After hearing these words, the king did not agree, saying, 'You are my only karmic son, Vairochana! How can I hand you over to the executioner who takes lives?' 'However, the Dharma is facing great obstacles, so go to a place not too far from here! There will always be a chance to meet again later.' After much discussion, the king banged the drum of law, summoned the queen and ministers, saying, 'This true master Vairochana, is someone you destroyers dislike and feel uncomfortable with. I will not keep him here, I will exile him to a distant place.' Especially you, the horse rancher Longong, because you dared to offend me and oppose me, you cannot be ministers anymore, go and be horseman slaves!' Then, the king gave Vairochana ten bushels of gold powder and a Dharma robe, offering them in a place where no one could see, and said: 'My only son, which place do you like to go to? I will exile you there, tell me!' Vairochana said, 'In the east, Gyalmo Tsawa Rong (present-day Garze area of Sichuan) still has some karmic connections, please allow me to go there.' He carried the scriptures and embarked on the path of exile. The king said, 'Bring the horse rancher Longong here!' He imposed seven kinds of punishments and tattooed the horseman's face. The Bon ministers discussed in private: 'The Tibetan king
