Thus, he constructed body and mind representations, and requested the translation of the sacred Dharma into Tibetan. He prophesied three translators, with Vairotsana as the chief, and through teaching translation, they became truly knowledgeable. Furthermore, he gathered many children and taught them translation, sent them to India to translate many sacred Dharmas, destroyed heretical Bon practices, and established correct views, propagating the union of Mahayana sutra and tantra. Led by the Kashmiri Pandit Vimalamitra, he invited many accomplished translators, translating the famous Indian scriptures and treatises. The teachings of sutra and tantra were like the rising sun, and the teachings of Padmasambhava flourished in the land of Tibet. In the biography of Guru, the 'Vajra Garland,' this is the seventh chapter: 'Kindling the Lamp of Dharma in the Dark Land of Tibet.' Thereafter, the wishes of the sovereign Trisong Detsen were completely fulfilled, and he held immeasurable celebrations and feasts, offering abundant wealth to the translators, and sending them back to their respective homelands with travel expenses. He granted Bodhisattva Padmasambhava the permission to remain in Tibet as requested. The great teacher went to Samye Chimphu, and the Abbot Shantarakshita resided at Utse. After a while, the king was afflicted with illness. Upon requesting the teacher, he went to Yarlung, and practiced the Amitayus, the Lord of Longevity. On the twenty-first day, he directly saw the assembly of the immortal Lord, and requested that the king be granted the longevity empowerment, but it was obstructed by impure ministers. The king was unable to go, and missed the opportunity. All of Guru's longevity substances and mandala implements were hidden as indestructible treasures in Yarlung. Without being seen by the king and ministers, he rode his excellent horse to Guru's presence, and requested empowerment. Guru said: 'You did not come when you were sent for, now there are no empowerment substances. The mandala implements have been hidden as treasures.' The king regretted it and repeatedly requested empowerment. The teacher retrieved the longevity substances from the treasure, and when he empowered the king, he said: 'If you had requested empowerment yesterday before the time had passed, you would have achieved the immortal Vajra life, but you were obstructed by the hosts of demonic ministers and evil spirits. However, through the power of the king's past aspirations, and the strength of requesting empowerment without changing your mind, your life will be extended by thirteen years.'

The substances of the mandala of longevity were once again hidden as treasures. Furthermore, he traveled to all the regions of Tibet, blessed one hundred and eight places of practice, and concealed countless profound Dharma riches as treasures, causing the benefit of beings to increase more and more. From the Vajra Garland of the Guru's Biography, the eighth chapter, which is about concealing treasures in the land of Tibet and fulfilling the wishes of the sovereign. Then, after some time, the king gathered all the translators, headed by the Khenpo (Śāntarakṣita) and the Acharya (Padmasambhava), and performed the practice of the Ocean of Collected Teachings. Afterwards, he made immeasurable celebrations. At that time, it was the time to celebrate the Tibetan New Year, but the Acharya said not to celebrate the New Year. The ministers and the queen discussed and said, "There is only happiness and no suffering. It is unreasonable not to celebrate the New Year." So they reported to the sovereign and secretly discussed and celebrated the New Year. On the right side of the neck of the Samye (བསམ་ཡས་, Samye Monastery) lake, they said there would be a fast horse race and a swift archery competition. The Acharya said not to have a horse race, but the ministers did not listen and agreed to have a horse race. Lhazang Lupa (ལྷ་བཟང་ཀླུ་དཔལ་, Lha-bzang Klu-dpal) liked Bon, did not like Dharma, and was jealous of the sovereign (Padmasambhava). When the king was racing on a horse, an arrow was shot from a trap, hitting the sovereign's collarbone and ribs, causing him to die. Everyone looked and said that there was a tree root stuck there. Without investigating what it was, the king passed away. Mutik Tsenpo (མུ་ཏིག་བཙད་པོ, Mu-tig-btsad-po) ascended the throne and did not abolish his father's deeds and customs. The great Acharya Padmasambhava, for the sake of future beings, blessed all of Tibet, whether border or center, as places of practice, and concealed many profound treasures. He built many Dharma-abiding temples in the border and center, as well as one hundred and eight demon-subduing stupas. On the summit of Samye Habu Ri (ཧས་པོ་རི་, Has-po-ri), Guru Padmasambhava, with Mutik Tsenpo as the main figure, along with hundreds and thousands of sovereign and subjects, performed one hundred and eight tsok offering wheels, gathered all the arrogant ones of the black side, humans and non-humans, issued commands, made vows, promised to offer their life essence, and completed the taming of the disciples in Tibet with his own body. Afterwards, Guru thought in his heart that now was the time to subdue the Rakshasas. So he summoned Mutik Tsenpo to his presence and said, "Prince, from your childhood until now, you have been the essence of my blessings and heart. Now you should also bear the suffering of your father."
