Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ! This six-syllable mantra is the essence of the Great Compassionate One's heart. If there were a vajra iron mountain, eighty-four thousand yojanas high, and one wiped it once every kalpa with a soft Kāśika cloth, it could still be exhausted. However, the merit of reciting the six-syllable mantra once cannot be exhausted. If Mount Meru in the center were eaten by fireflies, it could still be exhausted. However, the merit of reciting the six-syllable mantra once cannot be exhausted. If the sands of the Ganges River were pecked away by the beaks of Titi birds, they could still be exhausted. However, the merit of reciting the six-syllable mantra once cannot be exhausted. If the earth of the four continents, including Mount Meru, were scattered by the yellow wind, it could still be exhausted. However, the merit of reciting the six-syllable mantra once cannot be exhausted. Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ! If all the realms of the world were filled with stupas made of the seven precious substances, filled with the relics of the Buddhas, and offerings were made to them continuously, the merit could still be counted. However, the merit of reciting the six-syllable mantra once cannot be counted. If all the realms of the world, as numerous as grains of sand, were transformed into Buddhas and Buddha-fields, and offerings such as incense, lamps, unguents, foot-washing water, and music were made to them continuously, the measure of the merit could still be counted. However, the merit of reciting the six-syllable mantra once cannot be counted. Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ! This six-syllable mantra is the heart essence of the noble Avalokiteśvara. If one recites it one hundred and eight times each day, one will not be reborn in the three lower realms. In future lives, one will obtain a human body and directly see the face of the noble Avalokiteśvara. If one always recites it purely twenty-one times, the mind will become gentle. One will increase memory. One's voice will become melodious. One will become skilled in the meaning of all dharmas. If one recites it seven times each day, all sins will be purified. All obscurations will be cleansed. In whatever life one is born, one will never be separated from the noble Avalokiteśvara. If someone is afflicted by illness and evil spirits, one should perform rituals to avert worldly obstacles.

More than doing anything, the merit of the six-syllable mantra can avert greater disasters! More than any medical treatment and cure, the six-syllable mantra is a great antidote to diseases and evil spirits! The benefits of the six-syllable mantra, even the Buddhas of the three times cannot fully express, it is beyond measure! What is the reason for this? Because the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara continuously observes the six realms with compassion, it is the essence of His heart, therefore it can liberate all sentient beings from samsara! Future generations of rulers and subjects! Please rely on the yidam Great Compassionate One! Please recite the heart essence six-syllable mantra! There is no fear of falling into the lower realms! Because this is the guardian deity of snowy Tibet, please pray with faith and devotion! Blessings and siddhis will arise! Do not doubt or hesitate! There is nothing deeper or faster than this Dharma, the Buddhas of the three times have not spoken of it, and I, Padmasambhava, do not know it! I, Padmasambhava, am leaving now, whether staying here now or coming later, all the Tibetan disciples, rulers, and subjects should keep this in mind! Thus he spoke. All the Tibetan rulers and subjects were overjoyed and prostrated like a collapsing wall!
