From the chapter on demons in the very Perfection of Wisdom, after understanding the meaning of the extensively spoken teachings on non-mentation (Tibetan: ཡིད་ལ་མི་བྱེད་པ་), I thought that this itself was the Dharma. There was a crippled beggar there who would cover his child at night and meditate naked. As a result, he was known as a madman, but later became an accomplished one. Now he is known as "Chö Yum," the source of all Chöd (Tibetan: གཅོད་པ་). Therefore, something connected with experience is necessary. Also, in Jangdra Shö (Tibetan: བྱང་ཟླ་ཤོད་), a person was leading a young yak, but couldn't manage it. He made "yara yara" sounds to coax it and pulled, but still couldn't manage it. He thought, "Now I can't manage it, what's the use?" So he released the yak and meditated on that itself. As a result, he became an accomplished one, known as "Yak Yogi." In Do-mé (Tibetan: མདོ་སྨད་), there was a "Ka" Yogi who meditated on the letter "Ka" (Tibetan: ཀ), and he became an accomplished one. An old woman named Kha-ding (Tibetan: མཁའ་ལྡིང་) was instructed to focus on white mustard seeds, and as a result, samadhi arose. She became an accomplished one. There are countless instructions like these. These are also samadhis of mentation. Non-mentation (Tibetan: ཡིད་ལ་མི་བྱེད་པ་) is Mahamudra. As the great Brahmin teacher said: Non-mentation is the body of Mahamudra, the yogi does not hope for any fruit. Therefore, the ultimate intention of all Mahamudra, Doha, and so on, is this. In short, by realizing the non-mentation of the mind, all imputations will be cut off. Furthermore, Jigten Gönpo Drigungpa (Tibetan: འཇིག་རྟེན་མགོན་པོ་འབྲི་གུང་པ།) said: May all sentient beings, as vast as the sky, be endowed with happiness, free from suffering, and attain the precious, unsurpassed Bodhicitta. With this Bodhicitta as special, in general, until enlightenment and until death, from today until tomorrow's sunrise, vow to use body, speech, and mind for virtuous deeds. In this way, all roots of virtue on the white side will greatly increase, all non-virtuous actions on the black side will be exhausted, and all neutral actions will be transformed into virtue. Regarding this, I understand the virtue and non-virtue that you have explained, but what is neutral? And how does it transform into virtue?

Having made two observations, one will understand the reasoning behind it. So, isn't it the case that the actions of body, speech, and mind that follow the three poisons of afflictions are called non-virtuous? Yes, that's what it is. Certainly. And isn't it the case that the actions of body, speech, and mind that follow the absence of the three mental poisons are called virtuous? That is also true. Certainly. Then, the body, speech, and mind in which no thoughts of virtue or non-virtue arise are called unspecified. They are also called the Alaya. Isn't that so? When such body, speech, and mind are blessed by the mind of enlightenment, the unspecified turns into virtue, which is the skillful means of the pith instructions. It is the supreme intention of the Dharma Lord, the Protector of Beings, which is wonderful and extraordinary, and surpasses other dharmas. Furthermore, the second, unspecified body, speech, and mind, when realizing that the Dharmakaya is primordially peaceful and unborn, is it virtuous or non-virtuous? It is virtuous. That is also the root of virtue without ignorance. So, what does it mean to be without ignorance? It refers to the awareness of virtue, non-virtue, and the unspecified. Not understanding this is great ignorance, which is called ignorance. Even though it is unspecified, it is thoroughly distinguished by ignorance. And that also has two aspects. Therefore, when realizing suchness, what is the point of being confused about the law of cause and effect? It is because of not realizing this, clinging to self and what belongs to self. The World Protector, the glorious Phagmo Drupa, said: From beginningless time, how confused we are about the view of self! If the yellow-eyed hairbrush could catch the flocks of unborn swans, To cut the arrows of clinging to self, Without the water-knife of realizing the nature of mind, Even if pulling the sinews with conceptual emptiness, It will not be cut, but will bind even tighter. Therefore, one must realize the nature of mind. Conceptual emptiness is of no use. Practicing meditation will not liberate. Effort and diligence are also of no use. I have also meditated quite a bit, the ancient Jomos, sometimes in silence, sometimes cutting off speech, hoping to achieve something. Without realizing the nature of mind in this way, it is the work of ignorance or unawareness.

That being the basis, the result of suffering arises from the aggregation of causes and conditions. Now, here, a word of the teacher, Buddha Shakyamuni, is quoted as a source: All sentient beings, inferior, middling, and supreme, arise from ignorance, as the Sugata said. The cycle of suffering arises from the aggregation of causes and conditions, and the cycle of ignorance is endless and without increase. As it is said, the ignorance of not knowing, the "I" and "mine," and the karma of clinging to "I" and "mine," revolve like a great mountain in the three realms, and all three hundred and sixty wrong views, etc., are gathered in that "mine." If the "I" and "mine" exist, then its distinguishing characteristics, such as the self being permanent, happy, pure, having an end, being without end, being both existent and nonexistent, being neither existent nor nonexistent, etc., all extremes of elaboration will arise. When one realizes that the root "self" does not exist, the distinguishing characteristics will not arise. Therefore, from the wisdom that realizes the absence of self, all the qualities of samsara and nirvana arise. Likewise, from the Mother of the Buddhas: How many ways, doors, methods, and roots of wisdom there are, all arise from the supreme Prajnaparamita. The cycle of wisdom arises from the aggregation of causes and conditions, and Prajnaparamita is endless and without increase. As it is said, from realization, all wisdom, qualities, and activities arise. Today's Dharma is incomparably profound, so please keep it in mind. Also, the World Protector, the precious Drikungpa, once said: Here, what do you meditate on with the instructions? He replied: Meditate on Mahamudra. When asked: What is Mahamudra? He replied: It is the fivefold. Do not do that. Whoever has love, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment will accomplish the Great Vehicle, the Secret Mantra. Without these three, it cannot be accomplished. Similarly, understanding these three is sufficient. The four, including the dedication seal without wasting, are the means. Mahamudra, the Dharmakaya, naturally luminous, the ultimate truth of emptiness, is called wisdom. Thus, merely knowing the names and words of these five is not meditation. Therefore, when you answer, answer in this way. There are also instructions on this.
