Do. These are explained as they appear in the Abhidharmakosha. Secondly, incidentally, there are four aspects of alternating meditation: definition, classification, the person who relies on it, and the necessity of meditation. The first is to meditate by mixing the fourth dhyana, which has the aspect of tranquility and roughness, with the aspect of the four truths, in one yoga session. There are two aspects to this: preparation and main practice. These are the yoga of meditating with effort and the yoga of meditating without effort. The definition of accomplishment is that although the Vaibhashikas believe that it is possible to mix one uncontaminated moment between two contaminated moments, here, accomplishment is when one can enter samadhi at will in constant alternation. The classifications are: small, medium, large, very large, and extremely large. The first is to mix one with the aspect of tranquility and roughness between two with the aspect of truth, alternating three times. The second is to connect two such, alternating six times. The third is to connect three such, alternating nine times. The fourth is to connect four, alternating twelve times. The fifth is to connect five, alternating fifteen times. The person who relies on it is the non-returner, the arhat who has attained the fourth dhyana, and the noble bodhisattvas. The necessity of meditation is that the non-returner and the sharp-witted arhats meditate in order to abide in bliss in this life and to be liberated from savoring. And the non-returner meditates in order to be born in the pure abodes. Bodhisattvas meditate in order to train the power of samadhi. Fourth, there are six distinctions in the fruit of arhatship: one who is subject to falling away, one who kills himself, one who protects himself, one who does not move from his place, one who is fit to realize, and one who is not subject to falling away. The first is that a dull-witted arhat who cannot abide happily in the present life's meditation without hindrance will fall away. The second is that if he does not kill himself, he will fall away, and if he kills himself, he will not fall away. The third is that if he protects his mind from sense pleasures, he will not fall away. The fourth is that whether he protects his mind from sense pleasures or not, he will not fall away, but he does not have the capacity to subdue the senses. The fifth is that whether he protects

Even if aging, it will not regress, and it has the opportunity to tame the senses. The sixth is: An Arhat with sharp faculties, no matter what Dharma is seen, can abide in the bliss of samadhi, will never regress from samadhi, and does not need to tame the senses. Sixth, regarding the detailed classification of realms: each of the three realms is divided into three types: ordinary beings, learners, and non-learners, thus there are nine types. There are also Bodhisattvas of the desire and form realms, Pratyekabuddhas, Tathagatas, etc. Among them, the first type is easy to understand in the treatises. The second type refers to Bodhisattvas who have attained mastery, who abandon rebirth in the formless realm and choose to be born in the desire and form realms. The third type refers to those who, relying on the basis of desire, do not depend on others and realize liberation for the sake of their own solitude. If distinguished, it is like a rhinoceros; if gathered together, it is the practice of benefiting oneself and others. The fourth type refers to the liberation of fulfilling both purposes. If distinguished, there are three types: Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya. In order, they are the body of the separation result of the accumulation of wisdom, possessing the qualities of the separation result; the body transformed by the maturation result of the accumulation of merit, possessing the qualities of the maturation result; the body of the co-operative result of the accumulation of merit, arising from the co-operative cause of the Sambhogakaya. Seventh, classifying in detail through practice, there are five types: practice with faith, practice with superior intention, practice with signs, practice without signs, and practice without effort. In order, they are: Bodhisattvas who practice by believing in the nature of Dharma, in the manner of attention; Bodhisattvas who have realized the nature of Dharma directly, possessing unwavering superior intention of equality between self and others; noble Bodhisattvas who mainly practice with signs in the post-attainment state; noble Bodhisattvas who, if they strive, will not have signs appear for as long as they wish; noble Bodhisattvas who arise naturally without signs. Second, regarding the attainments to be obtained, there are two types: the essence and the qualities that arise from it. The definition of the first type is: the realization of the Buddha's teachings, whether doctrinal or experiential, that obtains unwavering certainty that cannot be taken away. If classified, there are ten types, the first of which is Dharma Abhisamaya: in terms of truth, the expression of the Dharma of the scriptures, through hearing and thinking, obtains the realization of unwavering certainty that cannot be taken away. This is the path of accumulation.
